It's never happened to me before.
You guys are getting asked out?
Fuck no. I don't know any dude who has been
Loads of men are being asked out by women. Most crumble.
This has happened to me several times and my answer was always an enthusiastic YES. The last one that pulled this on me I married.
Only happened once to me. Married her too
Hello sir have you considered investing in powerball or slot machines?
Awesome! Well done man with courage! And it paid off massively!
Never happened to me, but the world would be a better place, if women did it more often
It’s great when it happens but my wife wouldn’t appreciate it now.
Does your wife ever plan a date or get away weekend? To me that is the same thing as her asking you out.
I actually like it. I usually take the first move but I also like when other people take initiative.
Nah i respect her for it
Flattered! Pleased! This has happened to me several times. Good for my ego. Even though it's already very "healthy."
I'd honestly be confused, but if she gave me a bit to deal with the shock, chances are that I'd say yes unless I saw any of my deal breakers or a hint of an uncomfortable age gap. It would affect how I see her - in a positive way.
Never happened unfortunately.
Honestly, yes. It makes her more attractive as she makes a point of going after what she wants rather than being a passive participant.
Love this comment. Nailed it.
This has only happened to me at the gym but it's happened a fair bit there. I didn't like it. I'm always the most jacked guy at the gym and when I'm at the gym, I honestly expect people to acknowledge it a little. Being asked out is like saying "I see what you've dedicted yourself to and I see what you've accomplished, but if I had to guess, you're single and thirsty." Feels disrespectful. I like when people say hello. That doesn't feel disrespectful at all and doesn't come with any bad connotations. It's how I met my wife and how I get to know a lot of people who lift. But I've never liked when a woman acted presumptively.
Wait, it can happen?
Never happened, but if it did my interpretation of her would not be negative for asking.
What is this? 1960?
I'll let you know when it actually happens. ☺️👍
I've always seen it coming and was fairly well prepared to answer already. Usually it didn't change how I saw them unless they didn't take no for an answer repeatedly or the ones that knew I was married.
My first (and only) girlfriend did that. I’m glad that she did as it was all new to me and I found it hard to imagine someone wanting to be with me etc. I also wasn’t sure how I felt about her (I liked her but I didn’t have any feelings at first but she did). So I was grateful for it! I hate uncertainty of not knowing what others think
Instant turn on. She proactive and brave and those are great qualities. I've always given women like that a chance.
Questionable choice for sure, but I don’t judge.
Yeah, it makes me happy to see a woman actually interested enough to make a move and not expect me to initiate everything.
It’s happened a couple times. Usually a woman I’ve known a while. It significantly raises her attractiveness.
That only happens in fairy tales
My first girlfriend asked me out, I was 13 and she was 16 and to me at the time way put of my league. I asked her why and she said because in out small school I was nice to her. But also I was very shy with her and she understood but also showed signs of further interest. Present me if I was single first more or ask me out I'm for it. If you like me to that level ask me out, in a equal world this rick should be taken by all willing to be with someone they're into.
That isn't just a movie cliche?
If I like her, my reaction is to say yes. If I don't like her, my reaction is to say no thanks.
I'm suspicious. Not because of any gendered stereotypes, I'm just not attractive, so someone approaching me means they want something and are trying to sucker me into it.
It makes me like her more. As a man I would say yes.

Yeah that shits fucking wife material, like dude are just generally shoot on asking ladies out I think, not in the weird misogynistic way, just like, I keep hearing women be like nah guys back off, so I have trouble finding a place that feels appropriate to consider it, so if she asks oh yeah it's on
That'll happen when I'm the pope
I swear y'all are purposely ignoring us at this point because this question gets asked every other day on multiple subs and it's the same fucking answers.
Seriously. And then it's always some fucking revelation "men also have feelings and like being asked out? We never knew!"
That it’s a blessing from God and I should be thankful.
We got married after 2 years and have 20 year wedding anniversary this year.
I once went on a date with a woman who I had connected with on a dating app. We had dinner, and afterwards I walked her to her car. I opened the door for her, and before she stepped inside, she suddenly turned to me and put her hands behind my head and kissed me on the mouth. She said to me, “I just wanted to get that over with.” Which was a shame, because I found her to be attractive and intelligent. But by acting impulsively, that way, she demonstrated to me that she was not especially concerned about how I might react. And that told me that she was not very self-aware — that is, she simply acted without regard to how other people might think or feel.
Happened once, when I was a teenager. I had a friend, I thought she was fun and beautiful, but she'd never like me in that way right? One day we were hanging out, I apparently wasn't getting the hint that she liked hanging out with me so she grabbed my face and kissed me. Trouble was, I'd just started a relationship 3 days earlier. I explained, said I liked her too, but it would be wrong to end it with another girl for her. I'm loyal to who I'm with, not the best option available. Unfortunately, when the relationship broke down a month later and I asked her out a few weeks after that, she'd just started dating another guy. Always wondered what would have happened if our timing had been better. Was a great boost to the teenage ego - girls could desire me, not just be like "oh sure, I guess" or whatever I thought went through their heads if I expressed interest. Was also a blow to my sense of timing and decision making: what if I asked someone out, but the girl I had a crush on but thought was too good for me actually liked me back? Of course, won't happen ever again. I'm approaching 40, slightly overweight, out of shape, struggle to keep up grooming routines, and just am a terrible catch. But Georgia made my day back when we were 17.
…and everyone clapped!
The ones that have come on to me have usually been when I’m at a party or a bar and they have had too much to drink. I buy breakfast in the morning though.
If you like them ask them out. Simple as that. The same rules should go for both men and women. I want to be in a relationship with a woman who can talk about issues openly and with honestly. If she drops hints about wanting a date and does not say them, it is an indicator that she will not tell me to pick up my socks off the floor (random example). Instead, she will pick them up for years, and then get pissed off. That tends to turn into lots of resentments and some future blow up down the line. This is the kind of thing that causes a break up. By asking me out it says she does not 'sit pretty like a lady' and wait for the man to do something. It means she will likely not build up resentments that explode later. It means she will be an equal in the relationship. Relationships are a two way street for me. Both people need to show interest at some step along the way. Both people need to put in the effort. And both people need to have the give and take of telling the other to stop doing annoying habits, and do it right away with a fuss. So ask them out. And tell them where you want the socks if you don't want them dropped on the floor. And if your partner gives you a basked for dirty socks, use it and say thanks for looking out for me!
This is the sort of conjecture that gets you your heart broken down the line.
You're just making shit up. None of those are correlated. Who thinks like this?
No since I stop asking a long time ago. I realize that I was only a substitute body until someone better showed up. I enjoy the peace and freedom being single gives me. I am never the second choice then.
Makes my job easier
it immediately tells me she has terrible taste and/or deep mental health issues.
She's the one that got away. Regret doesn't begin to describe it.
Had it happen exactly once. On my life, if everyone had *a fraction* of the happiness I experienced that week, there would be no worse, and I’m not even exaggerating. Granted it was the love of my life, so that contributed as well
Evidently I get engaged to them.
Let's see, did it change how I saw her...does marrying her answer your question? Does staying married to her for 47 years answer your question?
No.
Yes, it makes me see her immediately in a better light. It sucks men never get to experience it because women are terrified.
Think I'm being setup for something or being punked. Stuff that happens in your teenage years apparently stay with you in adulthood.
Real talk, not being funny, I’d probably cry. And it would definitely change the way I see her. I’d see her as a confident woman who knows what she wants and I respect the fuck out of that.
I was in my early 40s and a widower. I had a female friend who was a widow. She said that she wanted to get together and talk. I thought she was wanting to commiserate, or possibly get some advice from me. I didn't realize until our meet up was almost over that I was on a date. I had no idea that it was going that direction. It was more awkward because I was already dating someone else. Had I been single, I would have been flattered and would have considered going on another date. Moral of the story, I was never any good at picking up on when a woman was flirting with me or interested in me. You need to clobber me (most dudes?) on the head. Don't assume we have any idea that you are even making a move on us.
It is lovely when I woman does that. However, in my experience, sometimes they are just bored and want somebody to go together to dinner, movies, dance. That is why I prefer to make the first move, and let my intentions very clear since the first moment.
I think it’s bold tbh. That’s how I met my wife she made me the first move when I had no idea who she was.
I’ll let you know when it happens.
Entirely dependent on my attraction to her. There’s been some forward women that i thought were so unattractive, I felt ugly after.
It's makes me like her a lot more.
It's the best thing a woman can do to show she has agency and resilience. Very attractive. It's happened to me only a couple of times. On the other side, think for a moment about the sort of man who doesn't like it. How he'll be as the years drag on.
i usually wake up right at that moment
My wife hit on me, I tended to be a bit oblivious/ cautious to when women “dropped hints,” as if you misread them, you are immediately branded a creeper or weirdo. So I never followed up on those hints. She just cut to the point very bluntly and we have been together 25 years.
Happened a few times and it always made me uncomfortable. So much so that I would never end up making a move because I didn't know what to think about this randon stranger.
It's happened once to me, and it was probably one of the best days I've ever had.
The only time this has happened to me was when I was already in a relationship, she was plastered drunk, and was just WAY too handsy. Really put me off her being any sort of person I'd ever want to be around again.
Not a direct answer, but my wife asked me to marry her. I said yes.
I'd appreciate it, it took aome courage to ask out tbh. But i won't change how i see her based on that. If it click then i'll make the next move.
My honest reaction is that I get surprised, and when I'm surprised I basically always say "yes" to things. No, it does not change how I see her at all. Well, actually it makes me realize that she's cool, because cool people are confident enough in their own skin to ask for things like that.
no 2 of my best of the best relationships were where the girls asked me out.
Happened twice. One I dated for a couple years and the other I ended married and now divorced.
Doesn’t change a thing about I see her.

What timeline does that happen in?
Changes the way I see her from "she's way out of my league" to "wow, I might have a shot, holy shit. More of this."
Sure it usually increases my opinion of her. I’d rather be with a girl who just says what she wants and if she wants to go on a date with me and hopes I ask I will almost certainly not ask because I don’t know she would be interested.
Honest reaction....Probably silence followed by..."noooooo! you are playing a trick on me right ?" or something to that effect. As to changing how I see her it would probably make me pay more attention to her than some random stranger by nature of us speaking to each other
Only three women have ever asked me out. The first one caught me by surprise and I blurted out that I was married before I had a chance to really think about it. Which kinda sucked, because she got really embarrassed and dipped, but she was super nice and easy to talk to, and I would've been happy to make friends with her... maybe more. The other two I said yes to (they approached me together), but we didn't really hit it off as more than casual friends.
