Been logging every day for about five weeks now, nothing crazy just trying to actually know what I'm eating instead of guessing at it like I used to.
Tuesday night I made tacos, corn tortillas, the kind from the taco truck by my apartment not homemade. grabbed the bag from the fridge after because for once i actually wanted to log it right instead of just typing "2 tortillas, whatever" like i normally do and moving on with my life. turns out each one is 140 calories. I usually eat four with dinner without thinking twice about it, so that's 560 just in tortillas before the chicken or anything else even touches the plate.
Genuinely thought it would be like 60 a piece, maybe 70. No idea where I got that number, I think I was picturing the thin flour ones my mom used to get in Ohio, those are smaller and a totally different brand anyway.
Weighed a stack of four on the kitchen scale after because I didn't fully believe the bag, scale agreed with it though so that settled that.
My roommate does something similar with almond butter, scoops it with a regular spoon and it's basically double a real serving every time, she knows this and does it anyway which is fair honestly.
Weird weather lately too.
It's been raining nonstop here for like three days which has nothing to do with any of this, just mentioning it because the kitchen gets weirdly humid when it rains and the scale fogs up a little (never actually messes with the reading though
Cut to two tortillas Wednesday and just added more chicken instead, worked out about the same on the plate, felt less like a downgrade than I expected.
Still kind of annoyed about the whole tortilla thing. Four is such a normal amount to eat with tacos, right? And it was just sitting there at 560 calories doing basically nothing for me.
