A lot of characters that are depicted as a silhouette for so long are "disappointing", cuz every reader projects the coolest thing they can think of onto that silhouette, so it inevitably falls short of what some people expected.
I was about to say the same thing. Same thing happened with Obito. Before we even got to the part where we got Rin related content every 2 chapters, the simple fact that we can now put a face on a character that's been mysterious for so long marks the end of an era, it just feels off no matter what imo

I think his design is exactly what you'd expect from a guy called "The sage of six paths". A wise and powerful old man who created the moon and separated the raging ten tails. He looks cool to me. What exactly did you want him to look like? What is "cooler-looking" to you?
