This subreddit is very astroturfed. Low-traffic threads on r/canada are sat on by permanently online right-wingers. They like to control certain topics and downvote the shit out of anyone with a dissenting opinion. You'll go from 1 to -30 in seconds. There's a massive difference between a thread with 0 upvotes and under a hundred comments and threads that draw in more than just the base of this subreddit. It's night and day; it goes from far-right to moderate real quick.

Anyone who can watch the Winnipeg NDP convention and still vote for the federal NDP is a dangerous extremist in my book. The NDP oozes authoritarianism.
I attended that convention and wouldn’t consider myself an extremist. For some reason I doubt you really understand the meaning of that and authoritarianism – they don’t just mean “things I don’t like”.
Idgaf man Avi had a great speech that combined some idealistic lefty stuff with bread and butter everyday issues Dangerous extremist is the fact that Carney is literally destroying online privacy and pivoting towards authoritarianism with stuff like Bill C22 that basically every other party from NDP to Conservative has condemned as well as civil liberties groups
