Good starter base, make sure to set up turret automation, and place a small amount of pipes in the wild where you plan to get resources. The biters dont expand directly on you, so you can slow their expanison/direct it, via putting clusters of pipes in wild, early game, buying you time and space, for you to set up walls and turrets, and get oil for flamethrower. that is key to survival long game, especially if you leave planet, you need to ensure your defenses, can handle your absence, flamethrower are practically free to fuel just needing oil, but you can refine it to make it more efficent/do more damage.
A lot of things can be upgraded in-place, like stamping a blue inserter over a yellow one, a red belt over yellow, or steel furnaces over stone. Burner drills have to be removed to replace them with electric drills+poles, though.

First, don't do "miner-furnace". They produce at different rates, so it's a little better to decouple them. Have miners output a belt of ore, and then furnaces to smelt the ore. This also means you can combine that ore with coal to fuel the furnaces, either in a mixed belt or two belts.
Second, don't worry too much about optimizing your layout just yet. You'll get better tools later, and learn from experience how to do it. Just keep on trucking with what works right now.
If you build a bit more spread part, you'll not need to move things too much.
