I got a similar thing with different colors, it’s a struggle to know what to put on my drivers license and stuff. What do you do?

Isn’t that literally what the hazel option is for? It’s what I’ve always put down and mine are a green, brown, blue mix

when it was still required to put eye color on ID (I was a kid) my mom and lady in the office were debating for a while before settling on gray, depending on the lighting I can have cold blue gray eyes or greenish on the warmer side, the only certain things are that they're not brown and are rather light

Not op but I saw a booth at a state fair once that had these. It stabilized ur head and had a camera all set up. Really neat!
I just got mine done! We were at a little tourist vacation area and they had a store for iris photography. Process took about 15 minutes and then an hour or so for them to edit and develop the photo. Cost about $115 for a 8x11. Photography lens is similar to some of the instruments you see at the ophthalmologist.
Not a bad idea! I had this taken recently on a cruise. I had my face in what looked kinda like a big VR headset. It was pitch-black inside. The tech had me open my eyes as wide as possible and then flashed a pic. I know several cruise lines offer this service but I’m not sure where else to have it done.

It’s hard to directly compare since they’re quite a bit older than I am. They’ve only recently started using readers as needed in their late 50s. I’ve never needed glasses/contacts and they didn’t either at my age, so I’d say we’re all pretty close. Guess I’ll have to wait til my late 50s to know for sure😁

when both parents have brown eyes but carry a recessive gene for blue eyes, there is a 1 in 4 chance of a child having blue eyes
But I guess that for each of your parents, one of their parents had blue eyes (in fact, not necessarily, I think it can jump more than 1 generation) ? Approximative explanation: "Blue eye" is a recessive gene so you need to get 1 from both parents for your eyes to be blue. Your parents probably got 1 "brown eye" and 1 "blue eye" from their parents but you got the 1 "blue eye" from both of them (I think it's also possible that one of your grandparents had brown eyes but still gave 1 "blue eye" gene to his child, which didn't reveal until it was passed on to you).
Yesterday I learned that blue eyes have no blue pigment, and it's only blue due to Rayleigh scattering effect. So, technically in the dark, blue eyes are no longer blue!

I do not know older people that have eyes that blue. Did you take the picture yourself without edditing? Photografers tend to increase the colour of mine when they edit the picture. Because if they aren't that blue it would be an even closer mix.

My mom's are a green-hazel and my father dark brown. I just got my father's, when the sun hits my eyes it's like amber but I wish I naturally had a amber-hazel honey like color :D
