I think this series DESPERATELY needs an open world RPG. Imagine you get to choose how to start as the following:
- a peasant/low born
- lord/lady of a small house
- exiled lord/lady of a small/big house who eventually stumbles upon dragon eyes and builds their way to the throne (and actually rules)
Then you decide which region you want to spawn in (North, Stormlands, Essos, etc)
Then you progress all the way through in Westeros/Essos and discover things like cool swords, unusual animals, and even dragons or dragon eggs. You get to own a ship, build an army, lay siege to a castle and potentially become the king/queen of the seven kingdoms.
And your actions definitely play a role in how people view you. If you betray people, murder a lot or show mercy, etc, then when you rally them to your cause they are more likely to join you. Also when you attack their friends, enemies, help them with battles against another house etc. but then you also get to make alliances, peace treaties, trades, become a banner man, etc
Not just that but you also get updated about the progressions in the game like who won which battle and who is lord of which castle etc or who eventually sits on the iron throne.
But then when you rule, you actually get to have challenging decisions that influence whether people trust you or will rebel and take the throne from you. Imagine meters like: fear, trust, mercy. And you get to choose how you want to rule. But also you can’t just take the iron throne and decide to be king. You need to have experience as a lord for people to even consider you a king. I am thinking really deep mechanics.
All while playing in 3rd person throughout the entire thing.
If such a game existed, I would literally
