how do i control my anger/frustration? i always end up hitting or biting myself when i get mad… and i don’t know how to control that..
the electricity just went off twice in the span of 30 minutes, and i have things to do on my laptop that needs wifi, so i got very frustrated the second time and hit my face once, my head once, bit my arm, bit the laptop, and yelled into the pillow… i’m very ashamed to admit all that, but i don’t know what to do, i can’t reached out for someone irl at all, what can i do..?
I would check out something like r/adultselfharm or something. This is self harm and they’re more adept at handling this topic and can offer better advice. It sounds like you might not like sitting with internal frustration so you externalize it to distract yourself, I struggle with it and that’s why I tend to do it. Hope you find help OP! 🫶

mate first off please don't beat yourself up too much over feeling ashamed, you're dealing with a massive overload and it's actually brave of you to admit it here instead of bottling it up
Physical pain won't fix the frustration, but it does give your brain a target to focus on. Try squeezing a stress ball or a towel instead. It's not a solution, just a way to redirect the energy somewhere that won't leave marks.
I'm sorry you're dealing with this. The fact that you're aware of it and asking for help is a really important first step. Hitting or biting yourself when you're overwhelmed can be a sign that your emotions are getting too intense to manage in the moment. If you can't talk to someone right now, maybe try looking into grounding techniques or distress tolerance skills (like the DBT ones). They won't fix everything, but they can help you get through those moments without hurting yourself.
try to treat yourself the way you'd treat a close friend or a child. you wouldnt want to hurt them right? you deserve that kindness too. id also recommend therapy. its hard and it takes time, but it can help you process these feelings and figure out better ways to deal with them.
Try questioning ur self after every emotion once u understand why u r feeling it then think on it for solution and if nothing can be done let it go if something can be done focus on solution. And next time do pushups or something else make it a habit to do the same thing when u feel that emotion or do deep breathing and count till 10 like 10 breaths will help
just take long breathes for 10 sec, works for me
