Found the photo (postcard) in an old biography about Toyohiko Kagawa. Could someone help me to find out what the text below the photo says. I'm guessing it's a name (i.e. a signature).

If they ever ask for cursive text in kanji exams i am failing that so hard
I think this is quite difficult for Japanese people to decipher. There is a way of writing called "達筆"(tappitu), which is like a cursive, so to speak. While it is considered a good way to write, it is often difficult to read. The first character looks like "か"(ka), and the last character looks like "ぬ"(nu). The zigzag in the middle is similar to "辶"(Shinnyo), a part of the kanji.

Could this be Chinese? The man in the picture doesn't look like he's dressed in Japanese garb.
Perhaps? I only assumed it was Japanese as the picture was found in a book about a Japanese person. I really don't have any way to know.
