the 230i is where i'd put my money if you want something that actually feels special on a twisty road. the chassis on those is stupid good and the b48 engine is way more reliable than the old n20 nightmares. you can find a clean 2019 with the m sport package under 25k if you hunt a bit. skip the giulia unless you love the way it looks enough to deal with electrical gremlins that pop up like whack-a-mole. my neighbor had one and the infotainment would just black out for days at a time. gorgeous car though, i get the temptation. mazda 3 turbo is the sensible pick that doesn't feel like you settled. interior punches way above its weight and the awd system is actually decent in snow with proper tires. it's not as playful as the bmw but for a shared car with your wife it might be the sweet spot. the g70 is interesting too, more grown-up than the gti and the v6 versions sound properly good.
