My toddler loves pasta, brocolli, chicken teriyaki, rice, lo mein, spare ribs. Still need him to eat more, but variations on those have been the most successful.
Hi everyone, I am looking for recipes that my 1 year old can eat, and we can enjoy as well, without tweaking her food too much. I really want her to not be a picky eater, and love cooking for her. I don’t want to blend it all to mush, but have her experience textures.
She’s 10 months old now, so I think we can level up our game from steamed veggies and meats to recipes that we can all enjoy.
Would love advice on recipes and if you have it, advice on how to get kids to love food.

My toddler loved red beans and rice. Be sure to mash up well so as not to be a choking hazard.
Soooo I don’t think if this will be helpful but I did everything “right” in terms of trying to avoid the picky eating thing and it didn’t really work, lol. Out of a desperate need to get more calories in especially my first kiddo, I went to the kid fallbacks (pasta, chicken nugs, veggies, etc.) and stopped trying as much—made as much as I could that would satisfy all of us, but wasn’t above throwing some nuggets in the oven while I finished the “grown up” dinner. Then, suddenly, that now-third grader starts trying everything and anything. I took her to a fabulous Cantonese fusion restaurant a few weeks ago and she ate me under the table. Last night we went out and she had half of my stuffed rockfish. I don’t think it is peer pressure either, since most of her friends are the pizza and mac and cheese types as well. Seriously, no idea why the switch flipped. So all to say, good luck but don’t beat yourself up or cause any more stress than necessary :) That said, to actually be responsive to you, salmon was always a safety food with a variety of seasonings and sauces! Unless it had a panko topping. 🤷♀️ And meatballs of various meats and seasonings also usually went over well and could be a bit of a gateway food.
Make food that you enjoy - cut into small pieces for the little one - let them use their fingers and explore to food tastes and textures. Our kids at 1 were eating decently spicy Thai food and all the things at that age. They have some different preferences now that they're teens, but they liked anything with flavor as littles.
Home made pizza is always fun, spaghetti, cheese covered veggies, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, homemade burgers/fries, BBQ, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, fried veggies, bacon wrapped anything. The "picky eatting" will happen at some point anyway. Don't force eatting all of it. Enforce trying a bite. A counter oven comes in handy for chicken nugget nights
