This is …not relatable.
I’m surprised so many people already “have a photographer”
That is often the case with fiction.
A while back one of my friends who is a photographer reached out to many of his friends offering his photography services if anyone wanted a free photo shoot of their choosing. Everyone politely said they were all set and didn’t need a photo shoot but one took it to the extreme by screaming at him saying, “I already have a photographer! To use another photographer is cheating! Don’t ask me or offer me another free photo shoot again!” Last night he and I were talking about a comic con we’re reuniting at next weekend and I am excited to see him since I’m visiting his home-state.
He then tells me how the woman who screamed at him reached out the other day saying she needs his help because the photographer she relies on told her they aren’t going to be be available the day she wanted to book, the photographer accidentally booked her on day she forgot she is going out of state and said if she really wants the shoot done book with another photographer. The woman asked if he’s free next Friday-Saturday to do a photo shoot she wanted to do but he told her, ”I’ll be at comic con both days I can’t help you and I can’t help in general because you told me explicitly you don’t use other photographers because you consider it as you put it cheating on your current photographer.” The woman then says, “No no it’s not cheating if I have permission to use another photographer which I do have permission.”
My friend told her, “Sorry celeb photo ops are booked and paid off with refund date come and gone, a panel I’m excited to see ticket is non-refundable and it’s my second nieces first time at this comic con with myself, her mom and big sister we’re teaching her the ways of comic con.” The woman then demanded he drop his plans and said he needs to honor his promise he made months back and he said, “Promise? No no you turned down my offer and you said what you said stop acting like you’re entitled to my time that I’ve committed to my family especially my nieces whom I haven’t seen in months.” She then continued ranting at him but he didn’t respond.
This is …not relatable.

tell him to ignore and block her. She’s all drama all the time and she’ll hate his pics and demand- something. That’s who she is
nothing good comes from doing favors for people who already showed they're impossible to please.
Too much explaining. No is a complete sentence
Exactly. People exhaust themselves explaining things to these these nitwits.
Or he can just say: Sure, I'll be there LOL
And technology is a wonderful thing that lets you block people!
Too much explaining because story is complete fiction.
In this case, "after how you treated me the answer is no and will always be no. I do not work with the likes of you."
Wow, you would even bother replying? I would just block right away. People that start like that are a lost cause.
"Fuck off!" is only a little bit longer, but so much more satisfying.
I had to learn that over many more years.
So is, "Get fucked, Karen". It's just not as succinct, but it is more fun.
Sometimes you go deeper not because you feel the need to justify it but to make sure they leave you the fuck alone.
No is a declarative statement not a full sentence because there is no subject or verb
So is fuck off
NTA. Entitled people are exhausting. You offered your services to her and she screamed you down. Now, she needs you to be available on demand. Just block her,and be on your way to Comic Con.
Exactly. Kudos to OP’s friend for standing his ground.

She's insane! Avoid like the plague.
He should respond With gales of scornful laughter. Tell him to tell the story to a group of people so they'll all laugh on speaker phone with him.
Send her a rock to kick.
Send her a whole bag of gravel.
Yeah that was too much explaining. Should’ve just said no and ended it at that. Ur friend didn’t owe that woman any more than one word.
Why did your friend over explain his family circumstances to this rude psycho? I would not even talk to her after the first outburst.
I can't say whether or not this applies to OP's friend, but there are plenty of people who had emotionally abusive, entitled parents and were raised in such a manner that they were made to feel they have to justify every decision a hundred times over, a simple "no" would never be accepted.
That is the worst written fictional story I've read all week.
Explaining to people like that is self-defeating, they just see it as a 'negotiation'. The only explanation she'd get from me would be "f#ck off".
the entitlement is off the charts, some people think their needs come before everyone else's
Just say no. You already have plans. The END! Her demanding, entitled, asshole attitude might also be why her "existing" photographer is suddenly busy and unavailable. No one could satisfy this woman or make her happy. Dodge this bullet.
Seriously? Why are you even asking reddit this question? "Fck off!" is the correct reply to this Karen. "No" is more polite, but I prefer the former given the tone of their first convo.
Sorry, I don't have availability for your dates.
I’d have left it at “I have plans that weekend.” That, and the whole “you were rude to me before” thing. And if she asked “what plans, what are you doing?” the answer would be “none of your business, only thing you need to know is that it won’t be taking your pictures.”
I used to explain my answers to my (now ex) husband and it drove him nuts. Usually a yes or no was enough. I often didn’t realize that I was adding extra words to yes or no until I was a few sentences in. I’m learning to take a moment and think if my yes or no needs clarification. Not for him, though. I don’t see him any longer.
The block button is a free action
Holy crap! The entitlement continues to march on!
“…the photographer she relies on told her they aren’t going to be available…” Because they got tired of her entitlement
A simple no would have sufficed. NTA.

"No, I will not help you cheat on your photographer."
That would really hit home for her I think. And made me laugh🤣
No! is a complete sentence. What a terrible person that entitled lady is.
Explaining why just provides fodder to argue. I always go with just No. When I am asked for an explanation, I ask why they want to know. Usually I get a nevermind, because it's not convenient to say you want an explanation so they can argue you into changing your mind.
A simple "No" would have been all that was needed. I'd have ghosted her after her initial response. It was stupid and unnecessary.
What an awful person. Glad you didn’t cave to her demands.
A simple no I’m not available , no I’ll be out of town would have been enough.
There's no need to even respond. You can't argue with crazy.
"I'm already busy the entire day and will not be canceling anything. Good luck finding someone else."
This is one of his "friends"? He needs to cut off contact with her since she was so ungrateful in the first place, and then so little regard for his time and already sceduled plans. Good on him for speaking up for himself and not letting her get away with it.
Say *thank you for the opportunity* and no show. 😂
Sure 🙄
the entitlement is unreal, she really thought he’d drop plans just like that
Why did your friend feel it necessary to tell her so much personal information that’s none of her business? Just say no, it doesn’t need to be justified.
I read the title as, "Entitled woman demands my friend drop his pants". Thanks for laugh. 🤣
I did too. Thanks to 5th grade speed reading machine. I hated that thing.
I like just the facts: “Sucks to be you.”
Read it as "Entitled woman demands my friend drop his pants"
Lol…why the hell explaining the becauses? Just say no?
she really thinks he should drop plans for her? that's wild entitlement right there
For future reference to ANYONE posting on Reddit, " You can help your Uncle Jack, off his horse. Or you can help your uncle jack off his horse" and THIS boys and Girls, is WHY PUNCTUATION MATTERS
Both are perfectly acceptable on Reddit...
No good deed goes unpunished
Too many words. “Fuck no.”
