I blame toei for making her unlikable to the point where people didnt wanna see her win. But she’s saying she’s at a point where she feels like she isnt slowing them down like in part 1, (which is true) not that she thinks she’s explicitly even in raw power

At some point some of you have to stop blaming Studio Pierrot for faults that belong to Kishimoto himself. Kishimoto makes a mockery of Sakura as a character, and it was obvious that he couldn’t give her even mediocre writing throughout the manga. This is the only power-up she gets after appearing in hundreds of chapters, there's no reason why majority of the audience should care when the author himself doesn't give a flying fuck about her

I always took it more as like friendly banter. Like when the avengers joke with each other during fights. Or legolas and gimli and their kill counts.
Because the majority of Sakura haters don't know anything about her character. They ignore the context and what led up to that moment, as well as one of the main aspects of Sakura's character. When Sakura says she's finally caught up to them during the War Arc, she's talking about fighting alongside Naruto and Sasuke as an equal member of Team 7. She's not claiming she's as strong as them overall or saying she's surpassed them. The whole point of that scene is that, after years of training under Tsunade, awakening the Strength of a Hundred Seal, and becoming the strongest medical ninja in the world, she was finally able to stand beside them on the battlefield instead of watching from behind. From the very beginning of the series, one of Sakura's biggest struggles was feeling like she was always a burden who had to be protected. She hated standing on the sidelines while Naruto and Sasuke risked their lives for everyone else. Her goal was never to become stronger than them, but to become strong enough that she could protect the people she cared about, fight alongside them, and stop relying on them to save her. That's why that moment is so important to her character. It represents the culmination of years of hard work and growth, where she finally feels she's no longer holding her teammates back and can stand beside them instead of behind them.
Plus... we wouldn't really pan any Kage level characters who might say something similar, even though they also could not hold a candle to Naruto and Sasuke. It's just Sakura hate and I say this while disliking her character. Sakura is undoubtedly one of the strongest people on earth at this point. It ain't her fault her squad is literally reincarnated demigods. Let the girl have her shine.

The context is quite obvious. It's Sakura glazers that want this scene to represent her literally being as *strong* as this level of Naruto and Sasuke.

It was bad writing. Sakura hasn't caught up to either of them. Kishimoto implicitly just thought if he wrote it we would believe it. Same thing as hashirama saying Itachi was a better Shinobi than he was. Hogwash.
Yeah so you just don’t understand what the characters are saying. Sakura is able to safely fight alongside Naruto and Sasuke without being a burden, that’s her statement. And it’s one that pans out since neither of them needed to baby her like they did in Pt1 Itachi IS a better shinobi than Hashirama, because Itachi made the ultimate sacrifice of his family and livelihood got the sake of the village. Sacrifice for the village being a core tenet of the Shinobi identity.
It's just a bad moment that doesn't really fit and Kishimoto bails and fails on it very quickly.
