Does she roll?
She just started rolling back to front!
My girl just turned 4 months and she wants to sit up so bad. If I lay her down on a pillow she literally does ab crunches to sit up 😂
My question is.. how do I encourage/assist her in sitting up? She’s not ready for tripod sitting I don’t think.. her legs don’t really go that wide.
THANKS!

You dont. She will figure it our eventually. It is not recommended for their spines to sit until they are ready themselves
Babies hit milestones at different ages, telling someone you don’t encourage a skill is kinda wild. Obviously don’t put her in a tripod sit all day but a few times a day is okay to build those muscles.
Prop her up on the corner of the couch with some toys to practice sitting up and build those core muscles!
Thanks!
She’ll figure it out! One day when he was just over 4 months old and he was reclined in my husband’s lap on the floor he just sat pushed himself up all the way forward into tripod sitting and started grabbing toys. No one taught him that 🤣 He had been doing those little crunches for weeks before that. He’s just over 5 months and sits totally independently now. After he did his random sit up we started giving him assisted practice sitting time.
That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing!
With my son it wasn't actually him trying to sit up (though i thought this too), it was him trying to get a roll going. He would do those baby crunches as well. Sitting up on their own is usually a later milestone, it takes a lot more strength to get up from the floor and there are usually things that come before that.
I think that’s actually a sign of trying to roll which would make more sense for her age Definitely don’t force her into a seated position where she’s holding all her weight on her own
Just lots of floortime and having her figure it out. Allow her to be a bit frustrated, only interrupt when she actually gets upset and starts to cry, but frustration is fine, its motivating
