My co workers rabbit had babies they are so cute and they asked me if I wanted one for free. I love rabbits a lot but I am allergic to hay, very allergic. Is it possible for a rabbit to have a fulfilling and happy life without hay? Is there a way to meet the rabbits nutritional needs without hay? Is there other options other then hay like grass or something? I do not want to accept the rabbit if the lack of hay would lower the quality of life for the rabbit. So this is just a question.

I don't know where you live, but look into different types of hay. Timothy is the one most have allergies to, but there is oat hay, meadow hay, teff hay,etc Babies need alfalfa hay, but as an adult they need to switch to something else.

No, they need hay. You may be able to use a different kind you're less allergic to. My husband is allergic to hay but he takes daily allergy medicine anyway for pollen and doesn't have a lot of issues. Otherwise, I'd say you shouldn't get a rabbit.

Yes, I volunteer with a rabbit rescue and we feed our bunnies orchard hay because the rescue president is allergic to Timothy.

Unless the owner can provide a huge amount of grass and fresh forage every single day, a pet bunny will not survive without hay.
They absolutely need hay but you can opt for types that produce less dust like Meadow hay and Orchard Grass hay which some people have had luck with. Pellets like from the Oxbow brand which has high fiber and timothy cube treats can help.

They can't live without hay. They'd survive for a short time but eventually go into stasis, which can kill them. They also need it to grind down their front teeth and prevent them getting barbs on their back teeth. The chewing motion from eating hay is what does that. There are ways to manage your allergies if you have a rabbit. For instance, when I feed my rabbit, I put on one of those blue surgical masks. When I take her out, I put the mask back on and change into a different set of clothes that I only wear when I have her out. Then after she's had an hour out (at a stretch), I change back into my other clothes, take off the mask, and wash my hands (up to the elbow) and my face. I do that a few times per day. It handles most of the allergies (she lives in our living room and is in a very large cage most of the time). If I get allergic anyway, I take something like Clarityn. Your allergies tend to get worse when a cage needs cleaning out and slightly afterwards, because you're really getting in there to clean. Most of the time though, I don't have allergies. The other thing is hay gets everywhere. We use a massive amount of it for bedding and all, and it ends up all over the place. It's just the way of it when you have a rabbit. It ends up inside our clean laundry even and we don't even know how it got there. :P If you're going to have a rabbit, it takes a degree of acceptance about these kinds of things.

I mean, if they have access to grass 24 hours a day. The grass would need to not have any chemicals and introduced slowly to avoid digestion issues. But i mean that's a difficult task.
