If you usually hike without the poles, why not just stop using the second one if the first one breaks and us it solely as tent pole from then on? Especially if you don't use them much, I'd go with foldable carbon.

I was considering using poles that were too short for a tent recently, ultimately I did change poles so this was just my thought process, not what I have actually done. You could make a short pole extension that slips over the pole tip.
Durston Z-flick tent pole? One is 88g. I know it’s carbon fibre but the way it folds and adjusts makes it an option that might be worth sharing
You could buy a pole jack and use whatever poles you want.
