So, what does someone with red/green color blindness see in general?
Just green. Red green colour blindness doesn't mean you don't see red and green, it means you mix them up readily when they're small enough. I'm pretty sure I know what green is and I'm pretty sure I know what red is. This green and this red might be different from the green and red you see, but I can distinguish them. But if you mix up, lots of red and green dots together, I'm fucked.

Red green colorblind just means we have a garden time seeing red and green, not that we can't see them. Large amounts of a color we don't struggle with but small amounts, especially if red and green are next to each other, can be very difficult. A good example is like state highways and stuff where they might have the single flashing light at an intersection, where one way is yellow and one way is red. When I'm far away I cannot tell if it's red or yellow because I can't see red that well, but once I get closer it's no issue

Context helps so I expect they'd see green. I'm not colourblind but I spend a lot of my workday in glasses that completely block some wavelengths of light, and at first I was surprised by the colour of things because blue and Gray look the same and yellow and colorless things are pretty similar - but once you know what colour something is you "see" it as that color
