I need to get a high quality monitor to go with my Mac Studio for work use - mainly, it needs to be colour accurate. I use my same desk setup for gaming when I am not working, and while I don't mind lesser visual quality, whatever monitor I choose \*has\* to have low latency for this reason (1-2ms at most). Will either of the Studio Display monitors be able to do both of these?

I bought a cheap projector on Amazon just to have as an occasional portable player. All apps on it like YouTube, prime video, Netflix all work fine on it. But when I try to watch a video from Apple tv, it doesn't load. I can open the apple tv app and choose any video I want, but once I do that it just tries to load the show but then it doesn't load and it says "check your internet connection" even though my connection is fine and all other apps work and show perfectly fine on it. What could the issue be? Even when using apple tv straight on my phone or using Chromecast to stream from my phone to the projector (rather than using the built in app on the projector) it works fine
You would have to ask tech support at whoever made that projector. But in general, you shouldn’t use streaming apps on a smart device. They tend to be spyware.
I have a dumb question regarding HomePods and HomeKit. I have a command that automatically turns off the lights in my nursery and starts playing white noise on a HomePod mini. How to do stop that HomePod from showing up on my lock screen as a now-playing island and at the top of my unlocked home screen status bar. It 1) makes it a risk for accidentally pausing it and 2) anytime I want to play something else from my phone (I.e. Apple Music) it wants to override specifically the nursery HomePod! Why does Apple hate my children sleeping?

I fucked up— WHAT DO I DO? Like an idiot, I deleted my messages data off my icloud, and it won’t let me undo this action. Here’s what I did step by step:

A family member of mine needs to retrieve old text messages. He blocked a person who was texting him on iMessage Now, a few months later, he needs to see those texts again but I believe all the text messages are gone/deleted once he blocked the person? Is that accurate? Those texts are gone? Is there any way to recover those text messages? Would the texts still be on the other person’s end if they never touched anything after? Thanks for any help
I am currently on an m1 iMac with 16gb ram, and I need more screen real estate. I think the answer is a Mac mini with the m4 processor with 24gb ram, which duplicates a headless server I have, with a really big monitor, preferably curved and possibly around 36-40" screen size. Are there any reasonably priced monitors that occupy what I call the "ford eco boost mustang" space? and by that I mean they actually perform really really well despite the fact that there is a v8 variation that might still kick its butt, but its still better than 90% of other monitors?
I like Dell's monitors. I've had the odd issue (one model was a touch temperamental and I've had a couple pick up intermittent coloured lines around 8-10 years old) but I've been happily running them daily for ages and they're my first pick.

Assuming you meant “MacBook Neo,” yes, unless you need to build a very large app with 400+ files in it, in which case, you’ll want a MacBook Pro instead.
I need advice on how to make a complaint. I dropped my phone and it stopped working, the screen did not crack but is black. Can’t use the phone. I have AppleCare, so thought it would be a no brainer. I’ve been unable to disable find my, I log into iCloud and it says it’ll disable mid August. I’ve spoken to Apple a bunch of times and have been told that I need to wait. But that’s wild to me. Does anyone have any ideas how to escalate further? I’ve tried through support but have had the same conversation 1000 times. I’m in Aus.

Hello, I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max in 256GB and I see on the website that if I upgrade to a 17 Pro Max in 512GB, it will be 0.42 a month for 12 months. My question is: If I upgrade to the 17 now for the 42 cents a month but want to upgrade again when the 18 preorders come out, what will this "fee" that they mention be? I'm guessing maybe it's the remaining payments on the lease? So I'd pay 0.42 for the remaining 10 months and will be charged $4.20?

I've got a Macbook from 2012 that at the point of purchase worked flawlessly, haven't used it since. I recently opened it up again, reset it, and it's slow as hell, even the cursor is slow to update.. what's going on? I'm a windows guy so I've no idea what I'm doing in this OS.
The macOS equivalent of the Windows Task Manager is called Activity Monitor. Start there.
What macOS version is it running? Older computers eventually slow down for various reasons (even without much use) but they especially slow down when installing much newer OSes.
I don't even know where to ask because it's such an oddly specific issue, but hopefully someone here will be able to help me. I love buying movies from the TV app in sales, have some amazing movies for like 2-5 bucks. I bought way back in 2023 the anime movie Your Name from the TV app. I usually watch the movies from my PS5's TV app, works flawlessly, perfect quality, yada yada. The issue is that in the PS5, afaik the way you watch the movie is going to the movie's page and clicking play. BUT, if I understood correctly, Your Name was removed from the tv app and so, when I select the movie it just goes to the movie page with no way to play it, only a "more info" option. I can watch the movie on my phone and on my PC, but not on the PS5. Is there a way to watch it or I'll just never be able to watch it again on the PS5?
I've got an iPhone 15 Pro with some scratches on the screen, a failing battery, and broken magsafe. I'd like them to repair the screen, replace the battery, and do whatever they need to do to make magsafe charging work again. I have the AppleCare+ subscription. When I fill out the service request, I can only select a single issue. Either battery, screen, or charging. What should I do to make sure all these issues get fixed?

You have to contact Apple support in your country with questions like that; only they will be able to help you with account-related trouble.
Is it worth switching back to Apple once my Samsung s24 ultra gets paid off in a year from now? I recently got a macbook, own an iPad, and my entire family (practically everyone I know) uses apple. I got a Samsung back in 2024 because at the time I wasn't super caring about the ecosystem. (I was also probably influenced from watching too many mrwhosetheboss videos) Now I just find it kind of annoying that I have 2 sets of data (and two camera rolls, I was unable to transfer my photos to my Samsung correctly when first getting it and now have to use an apple device/icloud on the web when I want my old photos)
Only you can make that decision for yourself, but it seems you are already well into the Apple ecosystem, so it would make sense to switch back to an iPhone.
I'll be starting a new job as marketing manager, and my new employer is asking me what kind of laptop I'd prefer. I told them I'd prefer Mac OS if possible as that's what I'm used to. Mac Neo seems to be the only option within budget. They said they can also try and source an M4 Macbook Air if I have strong preference for it. What I need for work is fairly basic, like most office work, with the addition of Photoshop and Canva for content creation. One of my main concerns is the 13 in screen. What are your thoughts? Any insight would be much appreciated.
The MacBook Neo is fine for anything that doesn’t require high performance in order to work, e.g. many 3D games.
I had to upgrade my phone and I didn’t really have time to do research. The sales person pretty much talked to me into the iPhone 17 Air. Now I’m reading how it’s a flop and they may be discontinuing it. I like to hold onto my phone until it absolutely breaks down so I really don’t want a phone that’s going to be discontinued or obsolete. I’m within the return window—should I swap it while I still can? I absolutely hate going through all the hassle but if it saves me in the long run it will be worth it I guess.
Is the phone a flop to you? You said you like holding it, who cares what anyone else thinks? Even if they discontinue it, Apple will still support it for many years to come with updates and even repairs if you need it. And people are projecting an iPhone Air 2 next year, so I don’t think the line will be discontinued if that matters to you.
hello, ive been thinking about upgrading my iphone recently, i currently use the iphone 11 pro max, and i was just wondering if i should wait for the iphone 18 pro max to release or if i should just get the 17 pro max, pricing isnt a concern. i would like to know what your guys thoughts are!
If I were you, I would wait the month or so until the 18 Pro Max is announced and for sale so I could make an informed decision.

Hey. I recently had to Switch to an iPhone 16e from a Pixel 10 Pro due to my AT&T account being hacked and AT&T refusing to really help unless I pay them first. Anywho. I sold I was gifted a Straight Talk iPhone 16e and love it more than the Pixel so will probably stick with it unless I decide to get the Ultra. I got an iPhone Watch SE 3 as well but also got a $450 beat buy gift card so I got the Apple Watch 11. I am really kinda interested in the AirPods Max though and they are on sale for $450. Is the watch 11 a big enough of an Upgrade from the SE to justify leaping It or should I got for the AirPod Maxes while they are still on sell?

I don’t really use Mac’s I have a pc but I do most of my music recording on my MacBook using Logic Pro and the battery went out on me, so I’m looking to upgrade I don’t really wanna put too much into my MacBook as it’s only for music and I only make about 100 a month off my music So was looking to get something for ideally 500-800 I found a 2025 MacBook Air on OfferUp listed for 800 and the guy got talked down to 600 cause it’s just sitting not doing anything, Is this a good price or are there better options?

I literally cannot turn off my location on “find my”. the only way I can turn it off is if I fully turn off all location services which is not ideal bc I rely on google maps as I’m out of town frequently. my phone has all current updates available, i’m not attached to any family settings. I’ve tried turning it off through the app, settings, and individual contacts. I have an iPhone and a Mac Air. I have parental controls set up on an iPad but I never get the requests on my phone because the MacBook yoinks them. I don’t have the MacBook sitting in front of me like my phone so I miss the requests, which is annoying. How do I unenroll the MacBook from getting these notifications?

Unpair the device from my MacBook Pro, reset the Bluetooth module, remove the fingerprint, added different fingerprint, etc The Touch ID button is working, zero problems locking the system clicking it. Hi - I have mp3 files on my MacBook and want to plug in my iPhone and manually manage music. I synch the playlists but the files don’t transfer and the files only play when I’m on WiFi. I don’t want synch all devices, just manage my different devices manually. What am I missing together the files moved?
The thing that's almost certainly biting you: Sync Library and manual management are mutually exclusive. If Sync Library (the old iCloud Music Library) is on, the iPhone won't accept files dragged from the Mac at all - it just mirrors your cloud library, which is why the playlists appear but the tracks only play on WiFi. They're streaming, not living on the phone. Two ways out, depending on whether you pay for Apple Music: If you don't subscribe: on the iPhone go to Settings > Apps > Music and turn Sync Library off. Then plug in, open Finder, click the iPhone in the sidebar, General tab, tick "Manually manage music, movies and TV shows" and Apply. Now you can drag tracks or whole playlists from the Music app onto the iPhone in the Finder sidebar and they'll physically copy across. That gives you exactly the per-device control you're describing. If you do subscribe and want to keep Sync Library: leave it on, but your MP3s need to finish uploading from the Mac first (Music app, they'll show a cloud status column - add it via View > Show Columns > iCloud Status; anything stuck on "Waiting" or "Ineligible" won't appear properly on the phone). Then on the iPhone open the playlist and hit the download arrow to pin it offline. That fixes the WiFi-only playback without giving up the sync. Two smaller gotchas worth checking either way: make sure the MP3s are actually imported into the Music library rather than just sitting in a folder (File > Import), and check you haven't got "Sync only checked songs" ticked with the tracks unchecked - that one silently skips files with no error at all.
Anyone else think it's ridiculous that Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program only works if you use AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile? I use Visible. The phone is still unlocked, but Apple won't even let me sign up because my carrier isn't one of the big three. If the phone ships unlocked anyway, why does my carrier matter? The same thing applies to the Apple Card financing.
The iPhone Upgrade Program ended earlier this week in the US.
I’m with Mint. So I cannot setup. Apparently I need to sign up with a plan with one of the three carriers FIRST before I can proceed with Apple upgrade. Otherwise i keep getting an error on the Apple page when I click on continue.

Help me use my 8bitdo Pro 2 Bluetooth controller with Books app. I’ve searched Google a bunch and my understanding is I have to use switch control/recipes in order to use my Pro 2 Bluetooth controller as a page turner on the books app, but I can’t figure it out. I just want to be able to put my phone on a holder and be able to scroll pages so I can read at night with my controller instead of constantly touching the screen.
On iOS, you can only use controllers in apps that support them. The Books app is not such an app. On macOS, there are third-party apps that can translate controller input to key commands.
What kind of score ranges did Apple Upgrade work for you to enrol into the program?
Looking to upgrade from 13 pro (69% battery health) into a new pro iPhone. Super interested in 17 pro but I’m getting fearful on having doubts when the 18 pro comes out. I know the 18p will have better camera w variable aperture, chip, modem, and some other things. Change my mind/convince me to get the 17pro/18pro.

Don’t know if this is the right place for this, but I recently ordered a new Apple Watch directly through Apple. Series 11 + band. It was delivered yesterday but when I removed the sealed watch box from the shipping packaging and opened it (removed the tabs from the actual watch box), there was no watch and no charging cable… just the instructions. (I did get the wristband though) I contacted Apple and let them know and they are investigating internally on their end. I also have a buddy who works at FedEx (who I received the shipment from) and he is checking things on their end too. There didn’t seem to be any tampering of either the shipping box or actual Apple Watch box. Also - the FedEx shipping details had the total package weight at 1lbs… which seems light for the watch, cable and wristband. Anyone ever dealt with this before? I’ve ordered quite a bit of stuff directly from Apple and this was definitely a first for me.
What iPad would you recommend if I would mainly use it for reading comics and watching movies?
Just the plain iPad will do, unless HDR support is a matter of life or death, in which case, get the iPad Pro.
Is Apple going to do their student promos, I traded in my older Mac for a newer one and I want to upgrade to an iPad, last year they ran the promo if u bought an iPad u got an Apple Pencil free, im not seeing anything this year

The MacBook Neo is just fine for that kind of work. You’re not going to be building massive projects as a student that would require an Air or Pro.
Hi, I wanna output my IPad 10 image into a samsumg g5 monitor, it only has one hdmi port and one display port, but I'm gonna use the HDMI for my PS5, should a USB hub with DP output work with the IPad? So I can have the PS5 on the HDMI and the IPad on the DP. I know it only mirrors the image, I wanna know if it works with DP connection and the hub. It's the ugreen DP hub.
cannot get spotify to work for the life of me. songs restart a few seconds in like 10 times before playing, also not even 2 minutes into my runs it just stops my music and wont start again until i get close to my phone (no cellular on apple watch but have some music downloaded). sometimes pressing play wont start it on my watch/airpods but will switch output back to my phone then start playing out loud. wtf is going on why does it suck so much? so frustrated by this that im just giving up on my run, ive ran to and from my neighbors house 5 times now and have to keep turning around after 2 minutes to restart my music
This isn’t asking about advice but more a question if anyone knows. Is there a trade in website for those that want to upgrade? I know Apple doesn’t offer a lot trade in wise and if a student was looking to upgrade for a new MacBook Pro or Mac mini I would love to buy last years model for a good price to make everyone happy. I just don’t want to buy on like eBay cause I don’t trust it. This is prob something most people know already but I missed because I live under a rock lol Any help would be great?
