Nothing wrong with keeping it simple, especially at the start. Three movements cover a lot of ground if you're consistent Pushups, pull-ups, and squats will build a solid foundation. The bigger battle is the mental side you mentioned. Maybe just aim for showing up rather than chasing numbers, that's what got me through the rougher patches
