I've been feeling this way for years but the recent actions of the IDF really solidify that for me. But throughout history it's been true in every nation.
Militaries are used to oppress people. Murder people. Colonize.
It's destroyed even the lives of those in the military with PTSD, losing their lives and/or their limbs.
And the fact that military service is mandatory in some countries is basically a form of indentured servitude to make you compliant to the state. The Draft that is still around the US via selective service and that goes against a Country that fought to end slavery. I see no reason why you need to lose employment for 2 years to work for the state. That is ludicrous. anyone who doesn't fight against that is a fucking idiot and a coward.
The US needs to stop worshipping it's armed forces. Cause it so fucking obnoxious and cult like and we need to stop rely on them for our economy.

militaries are also used to make a country immune/resistant to the things you say militaries are used for. Is are you actually against militaries or foreign interventions by those militaries? How do you feel about foreign interventions against other foreign interventions, this essentially extends that power to make your country immune/resistant to other militaries to other people who can't afford functional militaries

Respecting the military is not worshipping the military. The current military also provides aid to areas damaged by natural disasters.
