Yes, as already stated in the other subreddit, isotope effect plays a part here. The carbon 81Br bond is ever so slightly stronger than the carbon 79B bond which will slow the reaction down.

The equation uses the reduced mass not just mass so the difference is even smaller.

Yep. It’s very noticeable with hydrogen, much less so the heavier the element. Even nitrogen is only a few percent. Hydrogen is so significant that if you were to drink nothing but deuterated water, you’d eventually die. When about half of the protium in your body gets replaced with deuterium, your biochemistry no longer functions as intended.
