How low polygon count are we actually talking here? Are we talking actual 500 polygon count characters or in that art style? What are your actual performance goals? If csgo can still get above 100 FPS on igpu, I have to question your goal of using dlss and what your actual graphical bottleneck is.
The characters and city use a low-poly art style, but the game isn’t extremely optimized. Most of the assets are fairly detailed Synty packs. When switching to the third-person camera, with the view distance set to 400, we can see around 2 million vertices/triangles being rendered. We especially noticed FPS drops when opening the map and viewing the entire city from above. We tested DLSS because it renders at a lower resolution and upscales the image while maintaining better visual quality. However, we still couldn’t achieve a noticeable performance improvement on high-end PCs. That said, there can also be more than 360 animated characters active in the scene at the same time, so the main bottleneck may not be purely GPU-related.
