Yes, but going off a friend's recent experience you'd be much better off financially in Australia.
Depends on where you end up teaching. I’m on the top of the pay scale, with a partner also working full time, but living in a high cost of living town with a sizeable mortgage. We’re having to budget every dollar at the moment, and often don’t have much left to buy groceries once everything else is paid.
