Am I (20F) a spoiled brat in my relationship with my (20M) boyfriend?

I have been with him for a short time, maybe six months. Known him for a couple of months longer than that. He is a pretty generous guy, works hard and is pretty chill. I’m still in college, whereas he works in a trade full time. He’s able to buy himself nice things, like a brand new car at this young age. I’m proud of him and have told him many times. He often offers to pay for things, which I always press him not to but he insists. I appreciate it and thank him constantly. I often try and buy him things, even though my job makes much less money. But I want him to feel appreciated. I do 90% of the driving an hour to him and regularly visit his work place. Even late at night. He’s been to my house maybe five times this whole relationship. So I think it’s pretty even…. A while ago, he said he wanted to buy me my dream coach purse. I said absolutely the f*ck not. $400 is wayyy too much. I have never received such an expensive gift in my life! I told him many times not to, and even tried lying saying I didn’t want it anymore. He still bought it for me, even calling coach when it wasn’t available. I appreciated it so much. For the first time in my life I felt like somebody actually wanted to do something for me. He said it was only fair since I helped him strip wire for a whole week, until 12 in the morning each day. I guess instead of pay I got a purse for my work! ;)

However, I’ve noticed he is starting to use it as leverage. He is in general a very docile person, not aggressive at all and typically not rude. But, yk when people claim they’re joking but they do it so often it no longer feels like a joke…yeah. Today is national girlfriend day, and in my past relationships it’s always been celebrated. I’m still really young and it’s a big deal in college, all the guys post their girlfriends etc. I jokingly said to him a few days ago that I wonder what will happen for National girlfriend day. I was hoping for maybe a handmade card or flowers. Even ones that are just a couple bucks. He was like what, I just got you a purse a month ago. I said I understood and that I wasn’t asking for money. Just something small to feel appreciated. He’s also told me many times “wow I must love you a lot since I got you a purse” during certain arguments. I feel like I can’t say anything or else I sound spoiled. It’s like the purse is a pacifier. Even though it’s frequent, it’s not constant enough for me to fully be sure I’m not just going crazy.

I plan to do something for him on his day, and I’ve made him tons of homemade gifts, visit him at work and only ever go to him at work or his house. Aka I conveniently fit his day, but my day is not convenienced. I feel like this relationship is indeed “give” on both sides (time on my end as well as money when I can spare it, and money on his end). so I don’t like he uses the purse against me. Am I spoiled brat for wanting something, even minuscule on national girlfriend day? Especially after something as expensive as coach? If I’m being too much, be honest! I’m posting for advice.
