Visited last summer. Amazing city. Beautiful architecture, beautiful nature, the view from "Switzerland park" (if I remember the name correctly) over the Volga was indescribable. Only one issue. Some busses are quite ancient and need replacement, and even though busses are very frequent, they're still not enough. It was very very rare to see a bus not filled to the brim with crammed people. It was quite difficult to enter and exit, and most busses don't have payment terminals except near the driver so it was a bit inconvenient. Aside from that, beautiful city.
My thoughts exactly. I remember thinking this city deserves much better public transportation than these terrible ancient buses. They are like an ugly wart on a beautiful face.
