I am a high school science teacher (AP Chem and Physics) and its time to renew my AI subs. I have been using paid GPT and checking with paid Gemini to help make worksheets.
Nowadays I try to ger creative with the scenarios in my questions to make my students more engaged.
I wanted to renew to help make my worksheets and quizzes and wanted to know what is the best now. I plan on paying for an api this time..

I think you should make the worksheets yourself. Do the students know they are made by AI?

I think teachers should do whatever they can to lighten their workload. If they could use AI to write up the materials for tomorrow in 15 minutes and then enjoy the rest of their personal time then I think that’s a win.
Unless gemini releases a good 3.5 pro model I would stick to 5.6 sol for best quality
The general guidance I give to my teachers, is to use the tool you enjoy the most. I know some who love Gemini, I know some who love ChatGPT, Claude seems to be awfully popular. I don’t know if an API is going to meet your needs, but I’d be curious to know what you plan on using the API for! A group of teachers at the school my kids go to, tend to share a bunch of prompts with each other. I think they have an email group or something that they’ll share what works and it’s been very popular. Some of the students seem to appreciate the extra creativity that is coming from some of the prompts and lesson plans that AI has created
I’m not entirely sure what kinds of artifacts you generate. If you need something more creative than what standard ChatGPT Chat produces, you probably need a different harness, not a different model, since ChatGPT’s models are state of the art. My point is that there’s no reason to switch providers or subscriptions. Here’s what I suggest: open ChatGPT Work and ask it to create a video using Remotion, then iterate from there. Sample prompt: “ Create a polished video in Remotion based on this brief: [paste brief]. Build and render the finished MP4, not just sample code.”
