Dude, The House is not exactly known for their customer experience...
not anymore, 15 years ago it was incredible though.

I'd just stick a shipping label on it and save the cardboard.
Makes sense. It is wrapped in protective plastic.
Uh that’s pretty normal. I’ve never received skis or snowboards with any kind of wrap or protection. I’ve received 4 decks in one box just like that. Straight from the manufacturer too.
Same. It’s unfortunate. But to be fair that’s also how they get to the local shops. Same packaging, boards stacked deep
Sounds like we need to push for a new status quo then!
I've had two boards shipped to me in the last few years in Australia. Both had extra cardboard etc to protect the board. Two separate companies. Absolutely fucked they'd just ship them loose to you. I'd be very unhappy.
Great Minnesota company! Sorry that happened though.
You’re sorry they got an undamaged snowboard delivered?
“Everything is fine, but I’m disappointed!”
But something *could have* happened! ...Nothing did, but can you imagine how upsetting it would have been if something had? Just thinking about the has my blood hypothetically boiling!
"I really wish they packed a bunch of plastic and foam in here that I'll immediately throw in the trash"
So, what did you get?
It's not glass, it's a board. As long as it doesn't get gouged or bent its fine, and that's fine packaging for that
I’ve had more than a few boards arrive damaged from shipping. It’s not hard to throw some bubble wrap or extra cardboard to protect the tips. Yes does an awesome job packaging all their boards, never had one of theirs arrive damaged
it's a snowboard 😂 people put them on airlines without bags and they survive. you'll be fine. almost evey board I've orderd comes just like this
I mean. They’re meant to get beat up. I’d take a packing slip on shrink wrapped board tbh.
That's how every snowboard I've ever bought online has shipped, regardless of the shop I ordered it from. Never had an issue.
Direct from the manufacturer comes like this too. Almost like the product inside was designed to be hucked down a mountain
My never summer swift arrived with the nose bent in a bit. Has a small metal nose cap and nothing separated, but just called and told them (Tactics). They said don't return it, we'll credit you $50. Sounds great. Would buy from them again.
You're going to ride it or put it up in a museum?
Is this just rage bait? I wouldn’t want to ride a board that needs to be bubble wrapped. If it can’t handle bouncing around in the back of a ups truck then I don’t want to be strapped to it while straight lining it into a park jump.
That’s not the point
Y’all defending this shit are morons. I worked in shops for years, and when we shipped decks we would do what we could. Again. This is half-assed laziness
Evo packaged my mega merc up pretty well a few years back
I've had mine deliver in cardboard both sides wrapped, and also just a label on it and the base wrapped in plastic. The base just exposed out raw is pretty lame and that's how the house has always been... But you're also not getting directly from shop showroom prices. It's what you've come to have to accept.
They won't change shipping unless they start seeing high rates of damage. I've worked in shipping and had to upgrade packaging and change shipping companies due to damage.
They are tools, not jewels, homie. Bouncing around in a cardboard box is not going to hurt it.
They’re also not indestructible. Thanks though
This is how they come to the shops but in bigger boxes with more decks in them. You’re mad about nothing here.
Ooh. Cool. Tell me more.
Probably gonna want to make sure it's bubble wrapped when you ride it too
Gets mad a board wasn’t bubble wrapped. Starts jibbing 5 mins after first ride up the chairlift. This all makes sense to me.
This is an opportunity in disguise. Let’s start a brand that does nothing to innovate the board, but everything to innovate the package it comes in! Hand written note from the farmer who picked the board off the tree. Padding made of recycled Nike shoes. QR code for discounts to butt pads and aprés-ski mocktails. Well change everything
If enough boards got damaged in transit, the cost/benefit analysis would dictate more reinforced shipping… a cost that gets passed on to the consumer. Businesses that need to remain profitable are funny like that.
What a petty complaint
Shipping like that is pretty normal. Snowboards are not that fragile.
Didn’t come damaged. So you just want more stuff to throw away?
A simple cost versus benefit analysis shows there's no reason to do it any way different
Sooo you ordered from a large internet retailer and expected the personal care of a boutique shop? Come back to reality my guy.
I used to work in a snowboard shop and we would often receive product both with and without cardboard taped to the nose and tail. Also occasionally we’d deal with damaged boxes, but rarely damaged products. I agree with OP, cardboard on the nose and tail.
