Lines in Teeth

Could anyone tell me what could be causing my 17.5 month old’s teeth to look like this? (Pic in comments)

We brush your teeth every night and occasionally use Orajel and teething relief drops. She never has anything but water in the night and does not drink juice at all.

We have an appointment with our pediatrician next week and we’ll go from there regarding seeing a pediatric dentist. Just seeing if anyone knows what this might be or had a similar experience.

You can look up pediatric dentists now; you don’t have to wait. That looks like the beginning of cavities or maybe just staining or demineralization. A dentist can help.

I know the orajel and teething drops are not recommended, but idk if they would cause discoloration like that. The standard recommendation is just to use Tylenol/ibuprofen for teething pain. Are you using fluoride toothpaste? If so, how much? Fluoride toothpaste is super important, but the appropriate dose is really small (like the size of a grain of rice)

Always best to see a dentist because it's hard to tell from a picture- but it just looks like staining to me. Do they eat a lot of blueberries? My son loved frozen blueberries and his teeth looked similar.

I’d definitely just call a pediatric dentist now. My son had some staining semi similar to this, but not as bad. His was from mouth breathing at night due to enlarged adenoids and came off with a simple cleaning at the dentist. Has he been to a dentist yet?

  She was at the dentist as an infant to be assessed for oral ties, that’s it. She isn’t a mouth breather.

My 2yo son had some staining on his back molars. I was informed by the dentist that it is commonly seen in toddler who chew iron supplements. I now brush his teeth immediately after he has the chewable and the staining has gone.
