Hi y’all!
Not a lot of info out there so I thought I’d ask here. I’m a solo female traveler (USA) headed to Sarajevo from Zagreb. My bus gets in at 11 pm and it’s a 20 minute walk to my lodging. I am wondering if it is safe to walk alone at night and the overall safety of Sarajevo?
Any experience from other travelers or locals?

If you’re asking this question then I’d say why risk it. Take a bus or pre book a taxi. If you’re looking for encouragement then I’d say Sarajevo is fairly safe aside from scammers and pickpockets. From the train station if youre walking towards the old Holiday Inn, then there’ll be restaurants still open around that time. Youll probably run into the homeless though. Can’t speak for the other direction away from centre though.
I’ll be arriving by bus so walking from the bus station. I won’t have any cash in local currency to take a taxi which is why I am planning to walk..
