u/Possible_Kitchen1404 hi everyone, sorry if this type of post is not allowed here. in the past, i have gone through phases of wanting to make improvements to my health, eat healthy, workout, lose weight, but i found i could never stick to anything. i would stick to it for a few weeks, but eventually cave and go back to how i was before.
i have been struggling with my mental health for a couple months now. about a month or so ago, i started focusing on eating healthy, exercising, and drinking more water, and i felt better temporarily. instead of forcing myself into the gym i tried to find workouts and foods that i liked and stick to those (ex: basketball, walking, yogurt & granola). and i genuinely did feel better eating healthy. since i was doing things i liked i thought i'd be able to stick to it this time! but i do like the taste of junk food, and recently i have been having cravings of fast food and sweets. i know unhealthy foods are okay once in a while but for me once i start i can't stop :(( i also have fell off track with exercising. and i have started feeling a lot sadder recently, and i think because of that i have lost the motivation to take any care of myself
i also am medically considered obese , and have tried making efforts to lose weight over the years, but to no avail. i will admit i am very dissatisfied with my body and spend a lot of time (most of my time actually) wishing i was more attractive, and a lot of my motivation to lose weight comes from that.
does anyone have any advice on how i can get back on track? and more importantly, stay on track? or do i accept that a healthy lifestyle just isn't for me?
