Yeah it is. I have a couple different patriots and for the price they are very hard to beat.

Have you looked at a Savage Model 110 (non axis)?
Hell even an Axis II would be an improvement over a Mossberg. They should stick to shotguns.
I have a friend who bought a Mossberg Patriot in 7mm Remington Magnum. There was poor accuracy and oddly shaped empty cases. It was actually chambered for 300 Winchester Magnum.
