Is this not taught in like every grammar guide and textbook ever when they introduce the potential form?
Thanks, I deleted the post. I forgot that people here would rather condescend to learners who are sharing their genuine excitement about finding out new information than share in that joy. This language has genuinely changed my life; the time I spend studying it (or just engaging with native content - which I can finally do!) is so incredibly joyful and edifying. I am constantly finding little moments like this that excite me to no end; there is just so much about the Japanese language that is fascinating and just makes me want to engage even further. But I share that here and I get "isn't that like... Beginner stuff? Shouldn't everyone know that?" And I'm sure you didn't mean any harm. Your other responses to me were much more kind. But... Fuck, I just can't deal with the negative tone of comments like this. So what is this is in every grammar book? It was new to me and I found it fascinating that something so obvious had never occured to me before so I tried to share that with the community. My mistake - post deleted. Have a good one. I genuinely mean that - I may be frustrated with your tone but I still want every person sharing this hobby to enjoy themselves.
