I really don't like Madara being replaced at the last minute. I really don't like the reincarnates thing. But the moment I'll never forgive? Kakashi getting Obito's eyes and using Susanoo. It's such a blatant fanservice moment that I genuinely cringed. I always skip it on reread.
I’d love for kakashi to get both of Obito’s eyes with ability to turn it on and off, if susanoo wasn’t a thing
Giving one of the biggest medical feats in the show (saving guy from the eight gates) to Naruto and calling it a chosen one ability rather than Sakura who was THE medical specialist under tsunade and really deserved a moment like that to show her skill

This moment was on the just made ZERO sense.i was ready for guy to go down in a blaze of glory. Only to find out the touch of God kinda fixed it. It was both the most satisfying fights and sort of disrespectful when guy gets saved. The eight gates had so much build up through the ENTIRE show and we don't see it till the very end. Sure it's nice he comes back to life but for a sacrifice like that with his forbidden technique, I feel like coming back to life ruined the impact.
He also regenerated Kakashi's missing eye.
Great point, Sakura saving Guy would have been a great moment for Sakura also and her medical skills
Gai surviving. His moment would have been way more impactful if it was an actual sacrifice
I wouldn’t have minded if Guy survived but could no longer use taijutsu or chakra. Still shows the sacrifice. Then he could still be a mentor, and Lee could take over as taijutsu specialist.
Guy dying but somehow being the reason for Madara’s downfall would have been the perfect story. Instead we got that Kaguya crap.
One that comes to mind is the death of Neji.... But not for the reason you think. I actually LIKE that Neji dies during the war arc, because it is a war and I think it would be kind of disappointing if nobody of some importance died. And to be honest Neji makes the most sense to kill off, he was/is a pretty popular character but nowhere near the heights of like Gaara or Shikamaru. Which to me is the right kind of character to kill off, someone who will make most people sad but at the same time it's not someone that people would be super pissed off about dying(in theory). The issue with Neji's death is just how he dies in my opinion.
How he dies is probably also my little gripe with it. It’s sudden but that’s also war so it’s difficult Overall I felt it needed a dead especially with Naruto saying "I’ll never let me comrades die" to Obito and then Obito using exactly those words to talk back to Naruto and bring him to his side. It’s needed for their confrontation, IMO. Also Neji was a great choice also cause of his backstory and overall it just works.

I don't define it as "I will never forgive Kishimoto for this" but I'm sorry about how the last saga is handled, between Kaguya and the fact that Kakashi uses the Susanoo, it certainly doesn't ruin the work but it's a shame
Kagyua needed to be in the story for Madaras character arc and for the overall theme of the story but it should have had more build up imo

Kishimoto not letting Hinata have her moment Multiple times throughout the show 2 biggest are Hinata combining TLF with 64 palms and Kishimoto cutting away just as she was about to fight And Kishimoto not allowing Hinata to destroy the tenseigan by herself even though she was fully capable by that point of doing that
Yes I really hated how they made her a damsel in distress in her own movie and also like her fight in the bikochu bug episode and her using the protecting 8 trigrams 64 palms being filler pissed me off her confessing to Naruto in the pain fight

I guess this isn’t one of the big ones everyone says but I don’t like that they retconned sasuke’s first sharingan to when his family died. I think it cheapens the moment in the land of waves and that arc is important to me. Don’t get me wrong obviously the family was more emotional distress but I always viewed it as generally impossible or improbable to someone who is younger no matter their trauma like a puberty thing. It’s supposed to be harder for younger people to get it. It still needs an intense moment to activate but it’s not just a trauma competition and there is some other factors. I mean sharingan is supposed to be rareish among the uchiha and I’m sure they’ve had a lot of trauma so it’s not just uchiha + more trauma = instant sharingan there’s some genetic biological tomfoolery. Regardless it’s not 100% clear cut in canon and left somewhat in gray areas so you don’t need to act like Sasuke awakening it while in mortal danger in the bridge arc is some sort of insult to his family.
Itachi - Awakened it at 7 and almost at 4 even. Shisui - Awakened it as a child as well Madara - Also child. While I agree with you on genetic biological tomfoolery being required, I don't see how that prevents Sasuke from awakening it as a child. Beyond that it helps Sasuke being actually equal to Madara & Itachi in talent/bloodline.
Retocns are sometimes a good thing. It makes much more sense, especially in the Naruto world because of how overall tragic it is, for it to happen early in life, before your desensitized to emotions.
all the reanimating in shippden. kinda kills the tension when anyone can come back to life. and yeah, it happens in part 1, but as an “this is super hard to do and only orochimaru can do it with these two specific people.” not “it’s super easy and can happen to anyone” that we see in shippuden
Honestly thought I’m the only one who thinks like this. It’s fine and actually interesting when they do it with characters that died long ago and we can experience them. But bringing back Itachi, Nagato, etc. Was unnecessary, other than pleasing their respective fans and to create more hype. I’m glad they didn’t do the same with Jiraya. That’s also why his death/sacrifice feels much more special and emotional compared to others. Will forever remain legendary.

Completely ignoring the sharingans copy ability, outside of “Kakashi Hatake, the copy ninja.” Like have Naruto need to work harder than Sasuke because Sasuke can just copy stuff. The only thing we see him copy is Lee’s fighting style, and possibly Chidori, although that’s more a head canon than a fact. Have one of Sasuke’s strengths be that he copies his opponents moves and immediately locks in on the weaknesses, but Naruto counters him because he’s so unpredictable that he never uses the same move twice. But no that got sidelined for “Plot Mangekyo abilities” and “Giant kaju armor”. Anyway rant over.
Imagine a fight where someone just copies his enemy, like most of the time. Chidori vs chidori, rasengan vs rasengan, katon vs katon or any kind of movements. Will be interesting like once in the beginning, for example Kakashi vs Zabuza. I kinda get why they didn’t continue with this. Would eventually get boring, It’s more interesting to see characters using their own specific techniques.
Never got a proper final Madara battle. I don't mind Kaguya being the final villain, but at least let Naruto and Sasuke defeat Madara first, then bring out Kaguya

I'm going to get hate because I'm also a fan of Boruto, but I think Kishi skipping out on sealing Madara using the Sage's ninja tools missed so much opportunity for the Boruto series. I think having Madara ACTUALLY transform into Kaguya not only invalidates the premise of Karma but also weakens how far and developed Madara had come as a villain. Imagine if Madara never turned into Kaguya, but possessed her power and all of her knowledge and could essentially be held hostage in the series warning of the coming Otsutsuki threat.
War arc, more specifically the classic ones, reincarnation bullshit, gai not dying, zetsu being the one who controlled the one who controlled the one who controlled everything (Zetsu who controlled Madara, which in turn controlled Obito, which in turn controlled everything including characters like Nagato to an extent and the whole mist village), Madaras defeat, Kaguyas introduction and in general Kishi creating a segway for Boruto to be born.
Building up madara with 10000 episodes just for him to be killed from behind and reveal a NEW opponent.
The biggest is Itachi killing the clan on orders from konoha and being a akatsuki double agent. Second is Making Madara being the one to put the rinnegan in nagato. .

That moment Naruto sees edo Minato and he asks if Sakura is his GF and he says yes. Like that was the easiest moment where he could have either just said "no she's like a sister" or something like "no... not her" and have a small panel of Naruto looking over at Hinata. Like he already had them being close during the war, it's things like this that make the fandom continue to fight over how forced it was. Also after the comes back to the village from the Pain fight, like a single panel of him finding her and giving her a hug or just an awkward "thanks". Could have done so much to shut people up.
Yeah the pain arc was literally the alarms going off on this is happening. Honestly the whole build up and them together was really good and you could see it. It was satisfying because it was such an organic build up and was done well (mirrored his parents, and the fulfillment of Jiryaya and tsunade), so much so that we randomly had to have a film to retcon relationships into existence. He really fumbled the bag her and it was one of those decisions that nobody really benefited from and every character involved was worse off for it.
Moment? More like moments. But every single time I see a female character that’s made useless and weak, with no strong POVs or stands. First one that comes in my mind is Karin, most probably the worst case. Like bruh, we get it. We always need a female character fangirling and simping over Sasuke. But there are so many other cases. Would have to write an essay.
Not giving Sakura an equivalent power up as NaruSasu.
I have none. I think the story is very well written from beginning to end. But I do have some criticisms. I think the Rinnegan should have always just been Pain's ability. I think it hits harder that way. He was supposed to be the one to save the world, so much so that he inherited the Sage of Six Path's unique power. But no, that didn't end up happening. I also think Madara is boring as hell. He's just too strong, and his character isn't that interesting. He's just Obito if Obito was born decades earlier. I think Kaguya could have been foreshadowed better.
The fact we didn't get arcs around the tailed beasts and their users.

Naruto not catching the bag 🌸 and losing her to sauce. Everything after pain felt bottled imo. Aliens, reanimation out the ass, guy surviving, power scale out the window. NARUTO NOT BEING PRESENT FOR HIS HOKAGE CEREMONY. Things just got a little wacky and it seemed like he was trying to up the ante and trying to put a bow on top but it came out forced. Idk if this studio involvement, trying to make as many people happy as possible etc. I think world building wise and art wise he was top of the class but just seemed like he really struggled at character development in some areas and did well in others. And intra relationships remind you that it is a Shonen. I would love to get inside his sketch pad and notebook and maybe read some of his rough ideas and timelines before he got into the deep end.
Making Naruto come back from the time skip only having learned Giant Rasengan and not an assortment of new jutsu, honestly not allowing Naruto to use a lot more potential in general even before the time skip, not letting him be chunin after beating Neji, and making his whole purpose to be saving Sasuke. The relationship between Naruto and Sasuke would have been more interesting as a real hateful fued where Naruto accepts that Sasuke is an enemy of the leaf. Making Sasuke such a big focal point without making him more respectable. Making Sakura a bad character instead of letting Team 7 be similar to the Sannin where everyone is incredible in their own way, especially from the start where she insults Naruto because he's an orphan. Making Orochimaru turn into a loser non scary villain instead of allowing him to be as powerful or more powerful than pain, itachi, etc. Making Itachi not actually evil. Making the Sharingan/Uchiha be so powerful like at some point they can basically reverse time. Not developing more interesting clans or kakke genkai or exploring more of the very interesting ninja world and essentially making Uchiha be the most powerful clan. Making Gaara lose his jinchuriki and making Gaara be completely reformed instead of remaining a scary unstable threat that people are afraid to mess with. I feel like kid Gaara mightve won against the deidara and sasori especially since he wouldn't be going out of his way to protect the citizens of the sand village. Gaara was arguably the second most interesting member of Narutos generation and they just killed his aura completely by making him into a "good" stable person and removing the demon from inside of him. Making a bunch of other tailed beasts and retconning the sand spirit monk into a tailed beast.

It was how he dealt with legacy characters from naruto. Dude should have written them a complete history to the point of boruto. The fact that Metal’s mom is basically a myth at this point is insane.
