No, but sometimes when posing for pictures and asked to smile when I don't naturally feel happy, it's weird.
Some times I look at smiling for what it is and the whole thing is strange to me. Showing teeth, especially for pictures and then people ask their kids to smile for pictures and they don't really want to. It's like "pose in this manner that we've deemed shows that you're happy." Sometimes I see someone's profile on social media and they are posing in the same selfie smiling the same way, and I just wonder "what is this?" It's not that I don't want people to be joyous it has to do with the physical action of showing teeth and how some people need other's to see this expression.

In the context of our place within animal kingdom, it is weird. It's why people see aggressive monkeys baring their teeth and think they're smiling at them, when in actual fact they're saying "look at me gnashers, i'll bite ya if ya don't fak off"

As someone who has a face that looks like I'm meanmugging if I don't smile in pictures, I understand why people smile in them.

Not particularly. I can be very flat and sometimes don’t smile when I’m happy, but I look at it as a cultural norm (probably some evolutionary psychology behind it that’s above my pay grade) that shows people joy and friendliness. I have no problems with it, nor with people who don’t often smile.
What I find weird about smiling is that everyone does it. Somehow it’s baked into human nature. People smile in almost every culture when they think something is funny or joyous. Some cultures are more subdued or selective about social smiling, but even in those places a smile means happiness. There aren’t any cultures (that I know of) where smiling or laughing means sadness or pain.
