Not sure on the tail stuff but the fur to me looks like he's part curly/rex. The grooming a lot could be just some self soothing from the stress of the move plus the grief of losing his friend. When Meep 1 of my first two rats I had passed, Strawberry hid under my bed for 2 solid days so rats have pretty big emotions and sometimes they need time to sort themselves.
Anything i should look out for? People said to quarantine for 2 weeks even if he gets lonely, to look out for parasites and that typa stuff, i dont remember. Do you know any signs that something is wrong?
