Yes! I need to to get them in and out but now they come while playing as well and seek attention and scratches and let me move them.
So the boys Ciske and Ratatouille and I have been getting to know each other some more the last days.
I found a high-value treat: some chickenmeat for sandwiches. 😃
But the temperature is getting a bit higher and doing the same thing everyday is boring if you ask me. So I prepared something fun to explore for them.
Paprika, carrot and some frozen peas in a tiny bit of water.
And a place on the ground with some stepping stones to get down and up.
They sniffed it out from above but did not dare to go down. Gave them more than half an hour before I helped them down. And then they had some proper fun and became real circus artists. Applaus!
After almost 45 minutes exploring, eating and snuggling with me they both went up and fell in a deep sleep nice tucked against each other.
So I had some time to clean the cage, find a fitting bowl for the water and peas and when they woke up again they went back in their cage and where so excited to find the peas in there.
Oh I just love them even when I am just the ratsitter. It is to late for me now....

I knew they were up to something.... How could I miss the most obvious.
Those are some very cute rats and a very thoughtful ratsitter! Bet their guardian is happy having someone as engaged as you taking care of their rats 💜 Oh, and rats will never let go of your heart!
