I keep seeing an increase in gay or bisexual people turning to these anti-LGBT organisations and groups thinking that trans people and any other group should be kept out of the community. It’s horrible to be honest. Do they not realise that they’re not forced to go to pride events? But instead of just letting people do what makes them happy they have to sit there and try to divide a whole community. They take the most dramatic examples of people getting violent and stuff over pronouns and then assume, (as they always do) that that represents everyone. Is this like a widespread idea, or is it just a very vocal minority of people wanting to tear the LGBT community apart?

They can, as long as they are not heterosexual, heteroromantic, and cisgender all at the same time. If an ally is all of those things though, they are definitionally excluded from the group that is made up of all gender and sexual minorities, because they are not a minority in any of those respects. Ace people do have difficulties and discrimination. And it needs more awareness. Sometimes when an ace person announces what they are, people just say "cool." But sometimes, people respond negatively or dangerously. "That's made up." "Why do you hate me." "Why are you lying." "Let me convert you." to name a few. There are also some countries that have criminalised asexuality. It's likely being done to force women into not being able to say 'no' to their husbands, but the end result is that asexuality is being persecuted in a similar way to homosexuality - with a punishment of prison or forced conversion. Ace absolutely belongs on the rainbow alphabet.

I've been noticing this kind of thing on Reddit lately, too, and it's really frustrating. While there's definitely an element of a 'divide and conquer' mentality at play, I've also been around long enough to recognize basic human nature: people trying to carve out exclusive spaces just for themselves or their specific group. It's ridiculous, but sadly very typical of human behavior. I just wish more people could grasp that we are all fundamentally alike yet wonderfully different. Our differences—whether sexual orientation or anything else—are great ways to celebrate what makes us unique, but they shouldn't be used to splinter us into smaller, purity-obsessed factions that separate us from the whole.
Yeah very much true. It reflects a much bigger societal issue that some groups believe they are superior to others. So many people fail to see that this is a community of people, not a war.

Star were banned from talking at the first pride , outrage were outing gay MPs that voted against lgb rights, no kink gear at pride marches, despite the kink scene being there from day one. Some of this, I believe, is conservative LGB people wanting to break off in order to support their conservative organizations. Some of this is people contending that if one is to support LGBTQIa+, one needs to support every right claimed by even the most extreme elements of the larger coalition, even if one doesn't believe some of that or does not wish to live some of that. The TL;DR is some people in any large coalition are going to disagree with some of what other people in that coalition advocate. When met with "my way or the highway", they choose the highway. Then the opponents of all of us magnify the split.

First they came for transgender people, and I did nothing cause I'm not transgender (..I am actually trans and it's sad the community did not rage for us). Next they came for any women that did not fit the cute feminine subordinate ideal of women, calling them men and using that as an excuse to attack them. I have witness multiple men pulling a cis women half naked out of a bathroom, but society did nothing cause they screamed they were protecting women Then they came for people who disagree with genocide and arrested them and permanently labeled them as a terrorist for simply holding a sign. I can't believe still, society did nothing as this is nowhere near what terrorism laws were designed for, Next they came for gay people and I was not gay so I did nothing. This part is just starting, Next they came for lesbians but I did nothing as I was not a lesbian. Then they came for anyone that disagreed with the administration and no one helped since they had damaged human rights and equality so much society was broken. Then they came for straight people who complained about their lives online but only bots replied and they felt alone, powerless as the country crumbled around them while billionaires owned everything and the rest were encouraged to fight each other for the last piece of bread on earth. Next came climate collapse and 90% of humans died as nothing would grow. We are more than half way through this classic poem which I've adapted yet we are still confused about whats happening as if it didn't start with transgender people in nazi germany.
I think it's just a loud minority. It's horrible to see, but i've never met one outside of the Internet. From what i've seen, the IRL gatherings for LGB communities are usually quite small in volume - tiny when compared to Prides. Some gay people are conservative, which is an oxymoron. Those are usually the ones who want to push the T out of the alphabet. One day they'll get a rude wakeup call when they realise that the people they tried to endear them to are going to go after them next.

As someone who lives in the Bay and amongst one of the largest queer populations in America, I can say that most of what you’re seeing is nothing but right-wing propaganda. There are a lot of queer elders here (including some very well-known ones), and most of them are *very* openly and vocally supportive of the trans community. Several tens of thousands of people marched in the SF Trans March this year, and I promise you most of them were allies. The camera shop that Harvey Milk used to own and live above in the Castro is now a queer art space owned and operated by trans folks. And this is before we even get into the LGBTQ+ folks in the East Bay, who are all also incredibly protective of the trans community. Don’t let them convince you everyone is turning against us, because it’s absolutely not happening. The one thing they excel at is lying, but that’s all it is — lies.
