Is there going to be a chicken cull again??
If it gets into poultry populations, yes. The industry has literally planned this as their contingency.
That's the usual approach to halt the spread of bird flu once it gets into the poultry industry, alongside quarantine protocols to minimise spread. It would result in fewer overall deaths than just allowing the disease to run unchecked through flocks across the country. Still an unpleasant process, though.

This is genuinely concerning. H5N1 can survive for weeks in cold water and feces, which makes controlling its spread among wild birds incredibly difficult. Was tracking this on Virus Watcher weeks ago, seeing the reports grow. Fortunately, human-to-human transmission is still extremely rare, despite the high mortality in birds. Always practice good hygiene and avoid contact with sick or dead wildlife.
And if you have bird feeders/birdbaths, consider leaving them empty for now to reduce transmission risk in wild birds.
Got between 500 and 1000 odd corellas around with beak and feather disease already hitting a fair few. We check the ones on the ground to make sure it looks like beak and feather before putting them out of their misery now, anything that doesn't look like it will get reported. The poor things always look so miserable.
