Anything in maroon Bells, if you can get a reservation. It’s all incredibly and highly trafficked
I’m planning my very first solo overnight trip and want to start building up my skills and confidence out on the trail. I'm local to the Colorado Springs area, but I'm willing to drive a bit for the right spot.
I’m hoping to find something genuinely cool, maybe a great view, an alpine lake, or some unique scenery that is still manageable and safe for a first-timer going solo.
If you have a specific trail in mind, please let me know! I’d also really appreciate any specific advice you have for that route (where to filter water, permit requirements, trail conditions, or wildlife to watch out for).
Thanks in advance for the help!
