Hi, I work at a scale-up that's relatively well known within its industry.
Literally 4 weeks ago at a company-wide meeting the CTO was saying how we shouldn't be writing code anymore, not even reviewing and that we'll set up pipelines for automatic approval for PRs because reviews are now the bottleneck.
We were all using AI either way, but I guess we kind of took it like a challenge and really increased our usage and also moved to more expensive models. I was using Opus for basically everything lol. Last I looked at the dashboard we were spending hundreds of thousands in AI a month.
So last week there was a sudden message to RnD that we now have $250 monthly limit on Claude AI usage and it's honestly very restrictive - I can blow through $20 in 2 hours with Sonnet (we have a couple VERY large codebases).
I don't even know if I should find this frustrating or hilarious - there was a complete AI psychosis at C-level, the bills got big and we're suddenly forced to use models like Haiku because the our budget isn't enough for anything else?
Has anybody experienced something similar
