This is the last post I made about living in Spain. Also, I speak Spanish at the near-native level as a retired university professor of Spanish: “There is not a single procedure in Spain, no matter the context-legal, consumer, financial etc., that runs smoothly and consistently. Every.single.thing. one needs to accomplish here takes 3 times the effort and time and requires the patience of a saint. And scams are just everywhere, from ISP providers, to storefronts, to pharmacies. I’ve been here many many years and I’ve learned to accept this, but it is exhausting. The DNV nonsense is no different than the requirements for anything the government needs to approve here. Every funcionario, every town, every consulate etc just does what they feel like. I don’t think there’s any rhyme or reason, or that in any way they’re making the DNV harder and more confusing for any particular reason. They’re just not an organized smooth running culture unless you’re born and bred here and have enchufe (connections). Sadly, that’s the way things get accomplished” Germany to Spain will be a somewhat similar culture clash I’d think

To be honest, being a foreigner in germany I am not afraid of any other bureaucracy anymore 😂 It is also exhausting and these are the most square-minded people I 've ever encountered. I also saw your post about Healthcare in Spain. I am extremely unsatisfied with Healthcare here, you can look into similar posts you would be shocked as well! Is there something that rewards your decision though or are you leaving for example?
The one exception is the unemployment office, for better or worse. Friends signing up for paro in Madrid were shocked at how fast and efficient it was. I'd also say that getting a library card is shockingly easy. That's literally it.
