I have an albino female ferret (4 years old, spayed) who grew up with another ferret that was 4 years older than her. Unfortunately, we lost our older ferret about 3–4 months ago.
Krema (the ferret in the photos) has always been quite aggressive toward other animals, including cats, dogs, and even other ferrets. She doesn't play much either (very few war dances) and has been like this since she was young. She's nothing like my first ferret, who was much more playful and social.
I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with healthy but low-energy and aggressive ferrets. How did you deal with it? Do you think this behavior could be related to her being albino, possibly because of her poorer eyesight? (She also had a very bad fight with one of my very calm cats, where they both got injured, maybe she is now more afraid? But she was attacking them first.. i dont know what to do, now they are all separated from her. She isnt caged, she has my whole room - ferret proofed- to her, she free roams)
I'd also like to mention that she's perfectly fine with me and my boyfriend. She never bites us. Everyone else, however, is apparently fair game for chewing!
Her biggest issue is with other animals. When she attacks them, it doesn't seem like play fighting she bites with the intent to seriously injure or kill.

Have had some territorial ferrets and helped someone whose ferret was attacking her friends and lover. Issue is ferret claims the space and doesn't trust you to defend it. So she steps. We usually got them to the point they trusted us to defend them and were ok with strangers as long as we were there. If not, all bets off. Vet was fine. One vet almost killed Millie with an overdose and the second op, we stayed until she was under and we did post-op recovery in the car. She was extreme. Set up her cage as safe. Keep her away from other animals. It is fear driven. Millie was very badly abused. If she acts up out of cage, put her back in it. She needs to learn out of cage is your problem and not her's to defend.

Sorry you’re dealing with this.Krema’s aggression toward other animals is likely fear or territorial, it's common after losing a companion, and albinos can be more reactive due to poorer vision.keep her fully separate from other pets, stick to a calm routine, and put her back in her cage for short resets when she gets worked up. A vet check is still worth doing to rule out medical issues. Some ferrets just prefer being only child pets, as long as she’s happy with you two, that’s okay.
So you say she's fine with both you and boyfriend? It could just be a personality thing. I had 3 boys, brothers, who knew no other ferret but themselves. When 2 of them passed it left my last as a solo - I tried getting him a friend, but he just would not have it. So in the end "I" became his new playmate and companion - I spent more time with him, had him out more, made the cage more "cosy" for sleep times, ect. Sometimes a ferret just becomes a solo ferret because they don't like anyone else. That's not a bad thing, so don't worry. Just like a dog can not like any other dog or animal, and ferret can also not like other ferrets and animals that isn't/wasn't their cage mate. I say just make their cage really cozy, any plushies or blankets that still smells of their cagemate, keep those in there with them, and have them out for more playtime, cuddles, ect. Would be better than trying to stress her out with forced meetings with other ferrets/animals if she really doesn't want to.

...I really hope you aren't being serious. There is nothing about OPs post that suggested they "let" the ferret and cat fight. More likely they either tried to intervene. Pretty sure OP is not out here making a ferret fight club.....
The thing we forget about ferrets is that they are very much predators and were bred for handleability and prey drive for ferreting (hunting small game with ferrets). Dogs and cats only really get along because dogs are bred for lowered prey drive and/or are far more trainable in what they learn to see as prey. This is why we see that dogs can be ok with small pets and not kill/hunt them (still not ideal bc prey drive can be a switch trigger) while cats and ferrets essentially never are. Your ferret is likely not only territorial with other animals but downright predatory, musteluds are famous for trying to hunt/eat things an animal of their size has no right to target. Ferrets are usually only ok with dogs/cats when all parties are introduced as kits/kittens/pups, this is however not at all foolproof and can still go wrong.
