Adding comment so I can read the answers, got the same problem
This is as far as I can reach behind me.
I am otherwise very flexible, I have hypermobility in my back, but my shoulders do not move.
What should I try?

And those bangin thick thighs.
use a yoga strap. hold one end with the bottom hand at a similar position as in the picture. upper hand holding the other end also in a similar position as in the pic but elbow pointed directly forward. then try to move your upper hand backwards along the strap, moving your elbow slowly upward. stay for a bit of discomfort. maybe start with 30 seconds.
Get a face towel if you don't have anything fancy. Grab either end of the towel with your hands and hold them in the position you've got them in. Then slowly stretch by pulling up and down. Alternate which hand is at top and which is at bottom. Repeat.
Hold a towel in the top hand and dangle it down. Grab it with the other hand. You can now either stretch by pulling up and down, or use the towel to get your hands closer together for a static hold stretch.
Thin walled pvc pipe Have the guy at lowes or home depot cut you a piece that goes to about your chin or maybe a little longer. You can put it in a corner and take a few steps back and lean into it with an extended arm and get the craziest lat stretch of your life when the pipe starts to bend and give you a little push back. Its actually a great way to get some extreme stretching. You can also use it to help you stretch your internal and external rotators. just by holding it in one hand (elbow forward, arm bent at 90 degrees) out in front of you and using the other hand to twist your other arm into internal or exteral rotation. You could do that with a broom handle though, but for the lats I haven't found anything better than the thin walled pvc.
Here’s your upvote homie. I hope someone does it!
I can't speak for everyone, and thank you for the suggestion, but here's the thing. I need a picture. When someone writes a paragraph describing body parts and movement (or driving directions) I see precisely zilch in my mind's eye. I genuinely am unable to know what you're talking about. I also can't read comic books and know what they mean. Idk if this is all related (I think it is) and I live an otherwise normal life. I’m educated and hold advanced degrees, even. So anyway not to hate on you just saying, I can't upvote because idk what you're talking about. If anybody else has this issue and a name for it I'd be glad to learn what my problem is lol
Same problem, any stretches, and when I Dead hand I feel sharp pain on my left shoulder
just work mostly on internal rotation mobility drills. Doorway stretches and using a towel to assist will get that reach moving slowly

Yoga strap and binds classes helped me with this exact thing!
Start doing light shoulder and back exercises, build up your range of motion through passive and active stretches. Once you increase your range through passive stretches, you want to then strengthen it with active strengthening of the muscles at their maximum range. First you need to identify where you’re stiff and need more range. Do a few tests to see where you can improve, there are plenty of amazing mobility advice out there and Mathew Smith is one of the best couches I’ve seen. Unfortunately it’s not as simple as doing a few exercises, forcing your shoulders into those positions with bands won’t work long term. Your shoulders need to gradually build up to the mobility. You need stronger shoulder and back muscles as they all connect, also your ligaments and joints need to time adjust, as they take a lot longer to recover. If you’re serious about more flexibility, don’t limit it one area, try become more flexible all over. Good luck and hope this helps.
I don’t think anyone mentioned it but if you bring your shoulder blades together, like trying to pinch a pencil between them, before reaching back using a strap (dangle it from our tip hand) you’ll create more space to get your fingers together.
Oooh I have a whole blog post on this! For you it looks like the recommended drills for the "top arm" would be extra helpful
Your blog post is exactly what I’ve been looking for, thanks!
This was a lot more detailed and high quality than i was expecting from clicking a random link. Thank you 💪
That's way less than it should be imo
