Accurate
Ever since I started playing League of Legends in 2019, one thing has remained incredibly consistent: the community is never satisfied with the state of the game. Every other day, there is a new post claiming that League is in the worst state it has ever been.
The current meta is always the most stale, most broken, or least fun meta in the game's history. Riot is always supposedly out of touch, the balance team supposedly has no idea what they're doing, and right now the flavor of the month complain for July 2026 is mages bot(which was a big thing in 2018/2019 as well). Streamers will spend hours talking about how terrible the game is, players will complain about how miserable every match is, and then everyone queues up for another five games immediately afterward.
At this point, the cycle is almost funny. Every few months, the community collectively loses its mind and demands that Riot fix the game. "RIOOOOOT, DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE GAME! IT'S BROKEN AS FUCK!" has basically become the unofficial slogan of the League community. The famous Tyler1 clip where he crashes out and screams "FIX THE GAME!" is approaching a decade old, and somehow Tyler1 is still here playing almost every other day. The game was supposedly dying back then, then it was supposed to die during the Mythic Items era 5 years ago, now it's really gonna die this year because of role quests and mages bot.
Accurate
there was a question from someone making a survey, few weeks ago asking how's the gamestate according to reddit, and most answers were very positive, except few issues like homeguard and toplane state you just look selectively at people most likely to make a post, that is people that are angry
It isn't one community that constantly complains, it's different people who complain about different things because they enjoy different things. This is just inevitable with a community this size.
Seems like people never understand this
Classic Goomba fallacy. Nearly everyday there's someone falling for it, and sharing that publicly, in every gaming subreddit. And, ultimately, your opinions about the game are one thing, but opinions about other opinions are just wasted words.
Loud minority, people enjoying the game won't go around parading how good they think the game is and will just play.
I’m pretty satisfied with the game and have been for a while. A few changes here and there I didn’t like but adapted to them.
You cant get all the players on the same direction its normal every role , every champ wants aomething diffrent
I agree, but what can you expect? It's not like im going to make 10 posts about how i like the game, or your favorite streamer is never getting tilted
I’m satisfied with the game, it’s the players that frustrate me but I am playing a pvp game so it’s to be expected. Now if you were to ask me bout the client…that junk is wack. I feel like it use to be a lot better a few years ago but the past two years it’s hot garbage
Most loud league players never see further than their own nose. Many complaints are correct, or at least contextually valid (i.e. alienating your whole ADC playerbase with the current mage meta), but a lot of players don't think about meta or matchups or systems or anything besides their one champ really.
League of legends player base is big, so you can't make updates to make everyone happy. You make one group of players happy another left out unhappy so they complain. You simply can't make everyone happy. Its same in real life, Its pretty much same as in politics.
Maybe it’s time to find a new game?
I kinda agree on this one
I’m back for classic but it’s good to know some things never change
People just like bitching. I started a couple years after you and during that time top lane bruisers were running goredrinker and 1v9ing every game, lethal tempo was busted, and assassins could actually just face roll and kill you 100-0 with nothing but a serrated dirk. Game has been infinitely better the last few years.
Gambas falicy...
As others have said, the league community is so large it's just a constantly rotating group of vocal minorities. And streamers go along with it because it often increases their viewership.
(1) I think it is because they bring out new champs and seem not to care about balance. Sure, they can somewhat fix the numbers, but they do not or cannot fix the kits. Some champs are entirely left behind as they were exploited by pros. (2) Matchmaking is set up so there is slow growth and a lot of up and down movement. For many people it is similar to Candy Crush mechanics, where the game will let you win (mainly bc good teammates), only to give you very several unbalanced games. This leads to wins and losses feeling so one sided and unfulfilling. (3) The games are long and some ppl troll or throw games at a drop of a hat.

Going to be honest with you.... Why are you still here at this point? The community I mean, not the game. Just sounds like you love having your time wasted lol. For example, I love Cod zombies. Not touching that community with a ten foot pole though.
almost every consumer is never fully satisfied with the product
It's true, but you are right there part of the hive mind with this post lol.
cause the balance team is genuinely shit and they have been shit all those years its like they're doing patches by playing darts blindfolded
Idk about the main league server, but champion main discord servers have been a place of varying discussions, mostly neutral with some positive and negative. The few I’ve joined usually have a rant channel specifically for venting. This subreddit is the main place of league toxicity imo

Just try to not care about what other people think. Any pvp game will have it's share of people who are unhappy. Always. That's just the nature of anything involving pvp. There will always be actual imbalanced things native to the game. There will always be perceived imbalance by the players. There's no way to make everyone happy. Keep enjoying the game!
The game is genuinely in a good state, if I was pressed to make critiques it would only be mage bot lane being a bit oppressive and how prevalent mobility is. The 27 dashes meme is kinda true, but also fun! I love dashes when I'm playing a champ with them, and am annoyed when I'm immobile, so exactly as intended.
pull the plug. while league is not perfect and devs can always do a better job i do enjoy it lol, i have fun in chat too while staying honor 5 (somehow lol) and enjoy the game in a sense, victories arent 50% 50% from pov, they are rather 20% 80% sometimes, as i can only control my 20% imperfectly too. all that made me enjoy the fking game and play it :D without worrying abt elo or anything, still i play 100% ranked and seriously and joyfully
Just fix match making thx
I find the game boring thats why I quit. I don't think it is bad, I just growed up and the game is too fast and has tons of things to do when I appreciated a more chilling game. Not everything need to be fast paced imo
My biggest complaint is that I want the game to slow down. Team fights are hilariously fast and last maybe 10 to 15 seconds. Everyone does too much damage.
So what role do you play and what champs do you play and what rank? Because this will determine yo what extent your comments can be taken seriously to me. Over the past few years there are times when top lane and adc role has hatten royalty fked. Jgl, support, mid has had better and worse times but never got their entire gamling experience destroyed.
So you’d rather play in a meta with broken dog shit and no balance? People are opinionated because they’ve invested x amount of time into the game and want to have a good experience while playing it. This post is also ironic asf considering your complaining bout complaining.
If people complaining affects your enjoyment of anything why the hell are you on modern social media it’s literally designed to promote that kind of post
I think that while yes, seeing complaints all the time can be annoying, those complaints are also why the game is as good as it is today. This is not a dig at you at all op its totally valid to get pissed off at seeing complaints all the time, but if riot listened more to you and others like you with the ''just shut up and play'' mentality there would be a lot of bad shit from previous seasons still in the game. Player dissatisfaction has always been one of the things they take the most seriously.
Some may say those complaining enjoy the game the most! They are compelled to spend the time and energy to fixate on that and still come back to play some more.
If there is no one complaining, that game is dead.
Stop complaining then
Then stop being on reddit
I think its two things: \- if you make a post about how league is pretty good right now, people might agree with it but its not a very interesting take so they'll just kinda nod and keep scrolling. Meanwhile posts that are more confrontational ("league is ass" or "people who say league is ass are stupid") its gonna draw some engagement, and then it'll get pushed into popular/best/hot where it will get even more engagement \- if riot just made a change and you think its a fun change, you're not gonna open reddit you're gonna play more league. if riot made a change and you think it made the game unplayable, you're gonna put league down and now you're slightly more likely to be on reddit.
Dude this is reddit. The game subs always degenerate into jaded players just complaining.
This is a goomba ass argument. A non zero number of engaged players will always be upset at the game and thus will march over to reddit to complain. There is no greater community being upset, only different groups of people being upset at different things at different times.
