Windows 1p was bearable, and windows 11 having the hardware ID tracking, needing an email to make an account (they keep patching offline account methods) and then the company saying "we hear you" and then doing absolutely nothing after 10 years of gross negligence... Yes. Yes they've been fucking up for a *long* time, and now it's to the point where the layman is angry about it. And widespread adoption needs the layman. (Tangent, this is why I harp so hard about software defaults. Only about 15% of people change settings, so make sure the default settings make sense to the overwhelming majority of users, and give settings for the rest)

why might the graph be so 'spiky'? i can't think of why there would be such a large amount of variation in OS marketshare based on the time of the day
6 month date range is a bit interesting; it shows Linux recently spiking and then tailing off just a little, but clearly ChromeOS is dwindling.

Poor Open BSD... They need much more love! This doesnt surprise me at all. Everywhere I turn people are switching to Linux. Almost all the major tech influences on YouTube (3mill subscribers and up) and others are talking about Linux ALL THE TIME and even switching to Linux on some of their systems - mostly gaming machines. Steam has \~50 million registered Linux gamers - 50 MILLION!!!
I assume this increase is related to bots. I’m starting to worry that all this bot traffic is going to make things worse for real Linux users. Feels like it’s only a matter of time before legitimate users start getting labeled as bot traffic just for using Linux.
