I bought an old imac pre 2020 from Facebook marketplace for like 50€ that was turned into a display. Now during the heatwave with no air conditioning while using it, something burned through (i heard a loud bang and it smelled quite burned).
I have opened the iMac and looked at the pcb and the connectors and everything seems fine, but I can't quite pin down where the issue might be.
Yesterday my MacBook still showed that a second display was connected but know the second display Doesn't even show up on the menu anymore after opening it up...
Do some of you own an old imac turned display and can help me resolve the issue? I'm even willing to change everything and put completely new connectors and solder my own pcb just for it to work again, are there any tutorials you can recommend that are easy to follow and will definitely work?
