Here's the premise:
Ethan lost his wife. To cope, he clings to a physical law: information is conserved. Nothing is ever truly destroyed, just scrambled and unreadable. It's his only shield against the idea that she's gone forever.
But then, something begins erasing the universe, and that law breaks down.
I wanted to write a book about grief and fatherhood told through physics, rather than a physics story with grief bolted on.

hey, I wrote it in spanish, my native language. It took me almost ten years to close the universe of this story. The english edition is a translation and yes, I used AI software for that part, a 100,000 word literary translation was beyond the time I had. The text is mine though. Someone quoted four sentences at me a few days ago as "proof" of AI, and all four were in the spanish original, which is also on Amazon

Haha that's exactly the right objection, and I'm telling you, LIMINIS completely agrees with you Look, unitarity says the microstate survives that blender. Every particle would be recoverable in principle. But it says nothing about the human surviving, that is much more complex. If we are a pattern, and the pattern disappears, what do we do? Isn't destruction just another expression of change? My phone isn't a phone, it's a bunch of tiny elements aligned in specific ways and the assembly of those things is what I choose to call a phone. Just as his wife is no more than the alignment of specific parts he fell in love with. The abstract is another matter, or I guess technically not
