Id love to get my sis an amazing book for her birthday but all my recent top reads are kind of sad and heavy.
Open to fiction or non-fiction, she’s a writer in the side (so writing has to be 🏆) also a doctor and a big runner — but my instincts she just needs a truly great, upbeat, maybe funny, maybe not book.

If she's open to romance, then Emily Henry might fit the bill. *Book Lovers* is the only one I've personally read, but my sister in law has read all of them and based on her descriptions and reading the one I'd say they fit the bill of good writing + upbeat and funny.
