Should have added that. I know it's prohibited in Minnesota, North Dakota and parts of Canada
They work, and they work well. Limited in 3 hrs, caught a 14 incher. I wanted to release it, but it swallowed the hook.
Fish jigs or minnows 10-14 ft deep in 20-25 of water over structure that you know holds crappie. I like to ziptie a small glow stick to a cheap cigar float, above either a 1/16 oz black jig or a #4 Aberdeen with a minnow.
The lights are about $20-30 on Amazon. I run two, and hook them both up to my trolling motor battery.
