Honestly I think the production is sick. It sounds dirty and huge. Exploration of sounds also includes exploration of tones and not everything has to be clean and pristine.
Getting on Beato helped. Talented young artists, not my flavor but I respect the artistry.

For me, their music sounds pretty much the same as it did when they first started trending on Youtube. As before, I think they're very talented and, here and there, have some really-awesome ideas. However, I also feel like their whole thing is a bit stunt-y and, in a number of ways, feels way more Berklee than most of the improvised (and non-improvised) music I enjoy.
Loved the Beato interview. Though likely a product of my own expectations based on these videos, the vocals seem to be mixed more or less like how vocals are typically mixed, as opposed to being blended back more. I’m curious why they chose to promote the songs with arrangements that we couldn’t listen to (in the same way) when the album released. The mixes overall are a bit weird too, I felt like they traded clarity for intensity.
It is tonally uniform in a way that makes the majority of the tracks sound the same. The vocal lines, the harmonies used, the bit crushing on the drums. Maybe I just dont get it, ill have to give the entirety another listen. Obviously very talented but I was disappointed.
Their first album was so good(minus the Snoop Dogg feature). From what I’ve heard of the second record it doesn’t have the same feel as the one they recorded on Apeshit records with Paak.
